SAIC to Provide Cybersecurity to Naval Warfare Systems Center

New contract could mean new intelligence jobs at SAIC

Science Applications International Corporation (SAIC) was recently awarded a contract by the Space and Naval Warfare Systems Center (SSC) Atlantic for cybersecurity services and information assurance, according to a release from the company.

The multiple award contract has a one-year base period of performance, in addition to four one-year options, which would bring the total value to $210 million.

SAIC, which is based in McLean, Virginia, could bring in professionals with security clearance for new defense and intelligence jobs created through the contract. According to the release, the work will be performed in Charleston, South Carolina, and Washington, D.C.

"We look forward to helping SSC Atlantic provide defensible security strategies and practical solutions to help address the IA and complex cyber security challenges our nation faces today," Jim Thigpen, SAIC's senior vice president and business unit general manager, said in a statement.

Washington Technology, which ranks SAIC sixth on its list of the 100 largest federal government contractors, reports that work under the contract will support military health information systems and IT operations.
