Northrop Grumman Aerospace Systems has an opening for a Material Cost Analyst 2 to join our team of qualified, diverse individuals. This position will be located in Melbourne, FL.
The selected candidate should thrive in a fast-paced work environment with high expectations, significantly diverse assignments, collaborative/team settings across all levels.
Essential Functions:
  • Set up a cost control system
  • Help monitor and control costs on contracts requiring a validated EVMS system
  • Perform analyses and prepare reports in order to ensure that contracts are within negotiated and agreed-upon parameters and government cost control guidelines
  • Prepare budgets for contract work and assist in financial analyses such as funding profiles, sales outlook, and variance analysis
  • Support the development of program plans that ensure program requirements and statement of work are captured
  • Help ensure adequate funding availability by maintaining accurate records of expenditures, directing the preparation of expenditure projections, and submitting timely requests for additional funding to the government
  • Incorporate contractual changes into a cost control system by staying aware of outstanding work against each contract line item in order to maintain realistic contract cost and schedule baselines
  • Work as a team with junior employees on data inputs, and senior employees on EVMS planning activities.

Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor s degree in Business Administration, Finance, or equivalent discipline with 3 years of experience in Finance, EVMS, Project Control, Planning, or other related organizational experience is required
    • Or a Master s degree and 1 year of experience in Finance, EVMS, Project Control, Planning, or other related organizational experience is required
  • Demonstrated proficiency with MS Excel is also required (i.e., ability to create, maintain, analyze and manipulate spreadsheets with complex formulas)
  • Must have an Active DoD Secret security clearance investigated within the past 5 years with the ability to obtain Special Program Access (SAP).
  • Fundamental understanding of EVMS principles.

Preferred Qualifications:
  • Solid understanding EVMS principles (Earned Value Management; ANSI/EIA-748 32 Criteria)
  • General understanding and experience with Global Supply Chain Processes
  • Exceptional communication, interpersonal skills, and the ability to interface with all levels of employees and management
  • Proficient understanding of SAP, MPM, wInsight or similar systems
  • Advanced use of Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint
