WANTED: An experienced Senior Mechanical Engineer to join our Simulation and Systems team with demonstrated experience in marine specific fields such as auxiliary systems, propulsion systems, fluids and hydraulics.

A week in the life of a Senior Mechanical Engineer:

  • Lead in the design, development, and evaluation and operation of marine vessels, ship machinery, and related equipment, such as power supply and propulsion systems.
  • Review third party design modifications and improvements to mechanical systems
  • Perform design reviews, evaluations constructability reviews, helping resolve technical uses and managing information generated through design and construction phase
  • Lead marine engineering analysis related to vessels
  • Help team to create graphical representations of structures
  • Inspect equipment or systems
  • Research advanced engineering designs or applications
  • Support in preparation of technical reports for internal use

JOB REQUIREMENTS

  • MA or MS Degree
  • 10 – 12 years’ experience in marine specific fields such as auxiliary systems, propulsion systems, fluids and hydraulics. 
  • Ability to perform as team lead, and perform functional duties independently
     

ESSENTIAL REQUIREMENTS:

  • Minimum of at least one (1) year demonstrated experience with shipbuilding 
  • Minimum of at least one (1) year demonstrated experience supporting a major system acquisition program (DHS/USCG Level I, DoD ACAT I or equivalent)
  • Be proficient with MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Share Point and MS Outlook other software/tools provided on the Coast Guard Standard Workstation
