F-35 Effectiveness Analyst (OT&E)

AMERICAN SYSTEMS is currently seeking candidates to fill positions as F-35 Effectiveness Analyst to be part of our F-35 Joint Strike Fighter (JSF) Operational Test and Evaluation (OT&E) team at Nellis AFB, NV.

As a F-35 Effectiveness Analyst, you will:

A week in the life of a F-35 Effectiveness Analyst:

  • Provide subject matter expertise to government test teams on design of experiment and science of test pertaining to the operational test of the F-35 aircraft.
  • Assist in the design/development of test measures, test data collection methodologies, and analysis of data.
  • Support OT&E events to include but not limited to: operational assessments (OA), Joint Simulation Environment (JSE) and Operational Test (OT) events in the preparation for post IOT&E capability deferments and Block 4 (Blk 4) operational testing.
  • Identify and document test capability requirements, existing test capabilities shortfalls, trade-off analyses for resolution of shortfalls, and recommend approaches to resolve F-35 OT issues related to modernization efforts for the Joint Strike Fighter.
  • Frequently interact with military officers from the US Services and Joint Strike Fighter (JSF) Partner countries, government agencies, Lockheed Martin, and foreign disclosure officers.
  • Write up results of analysis into formal test reports in a clear and concise manner.

TRAVEL: 0-2 trips per month in CONUS, more frequent during active testing.

Job Requirements:

  • Bachelors Degree in a technically related field. (Engineering, Math, Physics, Computer Science etc.)
  • 5 years’ experience in statistical analysis or science of test
  • Knowledge of a wide range of qualitative and quantitative methods for the planning and assessment of operational tests for highly complex weapon systems and subsystems is required.
  • Strong knowledge of test plans, test procedures, data collection, analysis, and reporting.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Products

SECURITY CLEARANCE: Candidates must have a TOP SECRET clearance with less than six years since the last investigation closed out. Candidates must also have the ability to obtain Special Access Program (SAP) clearances to perform the work. 


  • MS in Operations Research, Statistics, or Applied Math highly desired.
  • Aircraft Test and Evaluation experience highly desired, experience should include Operational Test or similar experience.
  • Experience with Combat Aircraft (Pilots, Weapons Systems Officers, Navigators and Flight Test Engineers, etc.)
  • Applied experience in modeling, simulation or design of dynamic systems.
  • Advanced knowledge of test and evaluation methodologies to develop and implement advanced or innovative modifications to standard accepted methods and practices of aircraft system testing, necessitated by unique limitations and requirements of operational testing is highly desired.
