Junior Software Engineer

Assists in designing, developing, troubleshooting, and analyzing software programs for computer-based systems. Assists in evaluating/determining user needs with the maintenance of single-product models and subsystems. Performs routine systems modeling, simulation, and analysis. Designs and develops compilers, assemblers, utility programs, and operating systems. As required, provides inputs for documentation of new or existing programs. Primarily interfaces with intra-organizational staff with infrequent contact with inter-organizational staff and outside customers and vendors on routine matters. Requires Bachelors degree (in Engineering, Computer Science or related field) or equivalent, and zero to two years of related experience.ManTech International is seeking a Junior Level Software Engineer to join a software team of fellow software engineers and database administrators. The candidate will develop, coordinate, and integrate software solutions that directly affect the performance of the programs 24x7 missions operations center. These solutions include supporting an enterprise level application to include third party tool integration with monitoring and document management. The selected candidate must be detail-oriented, customer focused, and able to work in a fast paced organization, while prioritizing a heavy workload. The candidate must also possess a professional demeanor, demonstrate a high level of initiative, be able to follow through on tasks to completion, and engage as a team player.

Responsibilities include:

  • Implementing customer requirements utilizing Java technologies and client-side tagging and scripting languages
  • Working software projects throughout life-cycle from requirements analysis and design to maintenance following delivery
  • Developing and implementing systems using the Model/View/Controller paradigm that process a large amount of data both structured and unstructured
  • Learning to work with a diverse set of technologies and languages as needed
  • Creating various levels of documentation (Design, User manuals, etc.) and presenting briefings to the customer


Desired Qualifications:

  • Master's Degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field
  • 2+ years of work experience
  • Scrum Master or Scrum Developer certificate and experience applying it
  • Experience in developing the following technologies: JSON & XML
  • Experience with the development of multiple DBMs, using both SQL and no-SQL
  • Experience with tools such as Git, Junit/testNG, netBeans, or Redmine
  • Experience with web server technologies such as Tomcat and Apache HTTP Server


Security Clearance:
An active TS/SCI with favorable poly is required.

Qualifications:

  • Active TS/SCI with Poly – Must have this clearance currently
  • 1+ years of relevant experience (academic or professional)
  • BS/BA in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field or equivalent work experience
  • Experience in Java (Servlets/JSP/JSF, Struts, Spring, Hibernate) as well as SQL, HTML, and CSS
  • Ability to prepare technical documentation
  • Ability to directly interface with customers and stakeholders
  • Ability to function in a team environment following software development bets practices

Degrees:

  • 1 year of relevant experience with Bachelor's degree

Ability to handle stress and work well under pressure, Ability to use MS Office, Ability to use PC, Analytical and Critical Thinking Skills, Multi-tasking Ability, Oral and Written Communication Skills
