General responsibilities include, but are not limited to only the following:

  • The Technical Lead – Technical Security Services conducts security tests and evaluations of COTS and GOTS products to identify potential risks and provides implementation recommendations.
  • Researches, tests, evaluates and recommends security technology and products.
  • Analyzes proposed IT and network solutions to determine security vulnerabilities and recommend cost-effective countermeasures.
  • Contributes technical security expertise in technical working groups.
  • Leads and supervises lower-level analysts.
  • Contributes security expertise in working groups.
  • Leads and supervises lower-level analysts.
  • Recommends improvements to increase operational efficiency.

Liaises and coordinates with operational managers and other entities within the Department and with outside agencies.


  • A Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, Business, Telecommunications, or other related scientific or technical discipline.
  • 5 years of current experience in network or system security to include security technology and products test, evaluation, implementation or operations.
  • 3 years of technical task management and supervisory experience.
  • Possesses a Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP) and Microsoft Certified Systems Engineer (MCSE) Certification

Possesses a Secret or Top Secret clearance


  • It is desirable that the Technical Lead – Technical Security Services has the following qualifications:
  • 10 years of experience in system or network design, engineering, implementation or operations with increasing responsibilities.
  • Possesses a Microsoft Certified Systems Engineer (MCSE) certification
  • Possesses a Cisco certified network professional (CCNP)
