ManTech is seeking an experienced Network Specialist to support development, maintenance, and integration activities for large-scale, enterprise systems for our DoD customer. A Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related field with a minimum of 4 years’ experience is required. This individual will be a key team member on the project, providing networking expertise and assistance with managing multiple environments operating on both on-premise and cloud platforms. Able to work as part of a team and individually with little or no supervision.


  • Maintain an in-depth understanding of customer requirements and how they translate to application features.
  • Establish and maintain effective working relationships with the Government and component developer teams to ensure a common understanding of requirements, priorities, risks and opportunities and facilitate joint lifecycle activities.
  • Coordinate with functional and technical subject matter experts to ensure changes to systems/environments are handled and communicated properly.
  • Provide technical guidance for directing and monitoring information systems operations.
  • Perform system-level design and configuration of products including determination of hardware, OS, and other platform specifications.
  • Analyze network traffic and provide capacity planning solutions.
  • Validate changes to systems and/or environments meet network security requirements.
  • Perform vulnerability/risk analyses of computer systems and applications during all phases of the software development life cycle (SDLC).
  • Troubleshoot and address network and connectivity problems of systems and services across multiple platforms.
  • Analyze information assurance-related technical problems and provide engineering and technical support in solving these problems.
  • Perform a wide variety of tasks in software/hardware maintenance and operational support of systems.
  • Provide expertise on transmission control protocols/internet protocols (TCP/IP).
  • Perform configuration and Implementation of network devices and provide network support (DHCP, DNS) as needed.


  • Detailed functional and technical knowledge of key DoD Healthcare IT systems.
  • Strong understanding of network and internet protocols (IP) in large-scale, enterprise systems.
  • Hold certifications and training compliant with Department of Defense Directive (DoDD) 8140.01 and DoD 8570.01-M.
  • Experience maintaining environments with infrastructures that have components operating on both on-premise and cloud platforms.
  • Experience validating response codes between a set of endpoints within environments to assist with verification and troubleshooting (e.g., an HTTP response code of 200 = OK).
  • Experience measuring, analyzing, and reporting system response times, accounting for network latency and time to complete application requests.
  • Experience designing and implementing solutions to improve system response times, to include coordination with component developers to make those changes.
  • Experience checking storage and databases that reside on on-premise and cloud platforms for availability and response times.
  • Experience monitoring and renewing Secure Sockets Layer (SSL) certificates prior to expiration.
  • Experience performing smoke tests to ensure that products, applications, APIs connectivity, pre-testing, and all other resources are ready for scheduled test events.
  • Experience supporting Risk Management Framework (RMF) activities for obtaining and maintaining accreditation of DoD systems.
  • Experience with the full SDLC following formal methodologies such as Waterfall, Agile, or a hybrid of both.
  • Experience with Capacity Planning and Performance Analysis.
  • Experience using the MS Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint), Project 2000, Access, and Visio.
  • Good organizational skills.
  • Effective communication skills (oral & written).
  • Preferred:

  • Experience managing networks and network connections (internal and external) for systems operating on on-premise, cloud (particularly Azure), and hybrid platforms.
  • Experience working in a DevSecOps framework, incorporating security into all aspects of the project lifecycle.
  • Experience with providing input for project documentation such as the System Design Document (SDD), System/Subsystem Design Document (SSDD), Interface Design Document (IDD), Interface Control Document (ICD), and Database Design Description (DBDD).
  • Familiarity with the various DoDAF views applicable to DoD systems.
