Since its inception over 50 years ago, ManTech has been at the forefront of our Nation’s well being and security. To that end, we are supporting a critical Homeland Security IT infrastructure in which every action we perform is in support of preventing terrorist activities throughout the United States. Our responsibility is to provide hardware control management in support of this critical program infrastructure.

ManTech is looking to hire a Hardware Configuration Management Specialist to support these efforts. The ideal candidate will work within a strong team environment to provide and support overall hardware control management which includes hardware/system operating system, hardware management and asset control. They must possess familiarity with standard concepts, practices, and procedures within the Configuration Management (CM) field.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • 5+ years of experience with Configuration Management Tools like Rational Tool Suite or similar change management tool
  • Maintain hardware baseline configuration reports via elevation diagrams using Visio or similar tool
  • Strong proficiency in MS Office applications, including Word, Powerpoint, and Excel
  • Knowledge of configuration management practices
    • Maintains a CMDB as part of the asset management system
  • Ability to verify/audit configuration documentations are compliant with the CMDB (Visio, excel, Rational, etc.)
  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs

Desired qualifications:

  • Familiarization with AIX, LINUX, UNIX, and Windows operating systems management
  • Experience with version control, release, and software provisioning (GitLab, Rational, etc.)
  • Experience with BMC Remedy Tool Suite
  • Experience or Familiarity of Microsoft SharePoint
  • SEI/ISO/CMMI experience

Responsibilities and Duties include but are not limited to:

  • Works in a team environment to support a configuration management program for multiple systems/programs in various stages of design, development and operations
  • Monitor the incorporation of configuration change items
  • Maintain configuration control databases and provides status accounting of engineering
  • Work as a liaison between design architects, SMEs, and asset management to ensure the proper documentation of hardware components
  • Contribute to the development, documentation, and incorporation of changes
  • Plans and/or facilitates internal and external configuration audits
  • Maintains a CMDB as part of the asset management system
  • Ensure that existing Configuration Items (Cl) are up to date
  • Establish baseline identification of products through release of specifications and drawings
  • Reports and manages infrastructure changes throughout the hardware lifecycle and configuration control boards
  • Manages the licensing agreements of hardware components
  • Works with management staff to produce CM strategies and plans for upcoming enhancements and/ or roll-outs
  • Developing CM team process and quality improvements
  • Track and report on Hardware end of life (EOL) status

Degrees/Years of Experience:

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, Business or other related scientific or technical discipline
  • 4 additional years of related work experience may be substituted in lieu of education

Day, 8am-5pm
