ManTech is seeking a motivated, career and customer-oriented Engineering Lead to join our team in the Reston, VA area to provide unparalleled support to our customer and to begin an exciting and rewarding career within ManTech.

The Engineering Lead will oversee a team of 5-10 engineers responsible for the integration and hands-on implementation of new CDM capabilities for federal agencies in support of the CDM project or customer requirements.  The New Capabilities Engineering Lead will work closely with architects, engineers, and integrators to assess customer requirements and to design and extend capabilities offered by current CDM tools or customer solutions to support dashboard data requirements.  Additionally, the New Capabilities Engineering Lead will be responsible for the overall staffing of the engineering team and personnel management, and will also work closely with the project managers and schedulers for the program.

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Design, plan, deploy and operate Venafi Trust Protection Platform for Continuous Diagnostics and Mitigation (CDM) Boundary Encryption capability
  • Integrate ServiceNow with Agency network security tools and the CDM dashboard
  • Responsible for all aspects of the design and successful implementation of new CDM tools and capabilities
  • Work closely with engineers and PMO to provide accurate schedules that meet the milestones driven by the customer’s SELC process
  • Provide recommendations and guidance to DHS and Agency customers regarding improving efficiency and security of CDM solutions
  • Provide guidance to customers and management on addressing data gathering/reporting issues at the Agency
  • Serve as a liaison between product vendors and the DEFEND E Tier 3 support team to address technical issues
  • Validate data feeds to Integration layer and proper functionality of data being reported to the Integration layer after deployment
  • Review known issues published by product vendors and identify potential impact to the Agency's CDM solution
  • Create application documentation, architecture diagrams, how-to guides, SOPs, and other deliverables for both training and tool maintenance
  • Prepare technical designs with Visio diagrams and detailed descriptions
  • Provide Tier III support for CDM services including but limited to implementation, configuration, operation and management of the CDM solution
  • Manage engineer workload via JIRA ticketing and Sprint Cycles

Position Requirements:

  • 10 years of experience in Information Technology
  • 3-5 years of hands-on experience with the design and implementation of cyber security tools
  • Previous leadership experience with personnel responsibility
  • Strong analytical skills to enable effective troubleshooting
  • Familiar with PKI design, usage, and certificate lifecycle management
  • Knowledge of ITOM business process software such as ServiceNow
  • Experience with implementing and managing enterprise device types, operating systems (Windows and UNIX) and knowledge of UNIX security including SUDO, Active Directory and Windows domain management including group policy objects and remote access methods and related protocols
  • Basic understanding of scripting/coding using languages such as Java, Python, Powershell, BASH
  • Experience leading technical discussions with internal and external customers
  • Experience with 3rd party tool integration using APIs and Database connections
  • Ability to troubleshoot wide-ranging issues that cross team boundaries (OS, hardware, network, storage, firewall, COTS layers, customer access/authentication)
  • In-depth experience with integrated security system architecture using general IT security concepts, network security and monitoring practices/methodologies
  • Experience presenting material to senior management level and proficiency in the use of Microsoft Office applications
  • Ability to learn and implement new tools as required, for example: Forescout CounterAct, McAfee ePO EP and Application Control, Rapid 7, Carbon Black, Tenable SCCV, Splunk, Red Hat FUSE, Venafi, CyberArk, CA-PAM, RSA Archer, IBM Big Fix and/or other security tools in support mission objectives as necessary

Preferred:

  • DHS EOD
  • Experience with FISMA, NIST, security standards.

Clearance Requirements:

  • Ability to obtain and maintain DHS suitability
  • Candidate is required to be a US Citizen (non-dual citizenship) with the ability to obtain DHS Suitability.  

Physical Requirements:

  • Office work, typically sedentary with some movement around the office.
