As a Systems Software Analyst, you will conduct a variety of challenging systems analysis, software design and software development activities involving cutting edge technologies. These will be relative to the development and integration of leading edge Department of Defense (DoD)/U.S. Air Force (USAF) intelligence, surveillance and reconnaissance (ISR) collection, processing, exploitation, analysis and dissemination capabilities.

You will work with Full Motion Video (FMV) object detection streaming analytic capabilities to exploit multiple object detection / tracking algorithms running on a GPU-cluster hardware configuration that augments the Open Architecture (OA) Distributed Common Ground System (DCGS) hardware stack. This work effort will provide enhanced Full Motion Video (FMV) moving object detection and tracking capabilities for the USAF DCGS weapon system, detecting a wider range of objects of interest with improved positional quality and higher computing performance, freeing operator time and effort for other analytical tasks.

In this position, the Systems Software Analyst will:

  • Analyze, enhance, install, test and modify enterprise-wide operating systems for both new and existing systems. Develop workflows. Perform systems analysis. Prepare operating instructions, compile documentation and analyze system capabilities. Establish standards for development and maintenance of new and existing products.
  • Perform system engineering and integration activities within an agile development process. Maintain smooth operation of multi-user computer systems, including coordination with users and developers. Evaluate vendor products.Maintain documentation.
  • Participate in system analysis activities to include requirements analysis, gap analysis and technical assessments.
  • Develop high level and detailed system configurations.
  • Conduct presentations and demonstrations of prototype capabilities.
  • Develop new research area recommendations to introduce solutions, products, services and best practices to fit customer needs.

The Systems Software Analyst will work as member of a tightly integrated team to design, develop, implement, and maintain applications. Will be capable of working under general direction and independently determining and developing technical approaches. Will work in a fast-paced environment, think independently and overcome technical challenges as part of a multidisciplinary engineering team. Will display excellent communications skills, ability to interact with the customer, and provide team leadership.

Basic Qualifications for a Systems Software Analyst:

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering or related degree plus 2 years of relevant experience; or a Master of Science degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering or related degree plus0 years of relevant experience.
  • Current, active Department of Defense (DoD) Interim Secret clearance, or higher.
  • Must possess or be able to obtain a DoD 8570 Certification for IAT Level II or higher within a reasonable timeframe from start date. (reference: http://iase.disa.mil/iawip/Pages/iabaseline.aspx for list of qualified certifications)
Basic Qualifications for a Principal Systems Software Analyst:
  • Bachelor'sdegree in Computer Science, Software Engineering or related degree plus5 years of relevant experience; or a Master of Science degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering or related degree plus3 years of relevant experience.
  • Current, active Department of Defense (DoD) Interim Secret clearance, or higher.

Preferred Qualifications for both levels:

  • Experience or a desire to learn one or more of the following:
    • Cloud Techology such as Amazon Web Services/Elastic Compute Cloud (EC2) or Open Cloud
    • Graphics Processing Units (GPUs)
    • Machine Learning/Deep Learning/TensorFlow
    • Video Data Formats/Standards
    • Computer Vision/Structure from Motion
    • Big Data Analytics
    • Testing and Evaluation
