Description of Work:
  • Provide development support to the government client and enable design, development and implementation of complex systems
  • Participate in the full lifecycle of agile and waterfall projects by designing and developing user interfaces and applications
  • Conduct unit testing to ensure high quality bug free code
  • Decompose business and system architecture to support clean-interface multi team development
  • Understands the business problem statement, user stories, and technical constraints
  • Participant in planning, retrospectives, demos and daily stand-ups
  • Demonstrate strong oral and written communication skills, with the ability to communicate technical topics to management and non-technical audiences, as well as interface with customer on a daily basis
  • Implement web programming techniques and frameworks
  • Ensure Section 508 compliance
Basic Qualifications:
Minimum knowledge, skills, abilities needed.
  • Bachelor's degree in Science.A minimum of 4 years of experience as a developer in development environment (such as Java/J2EE) would be accepted in lieu of a degree
  • Minimum of 1 year knowledge of Java or J2EE
  • Minimum of 1 year knowledge or experience with one or more of the following: JEE Security, Java Batch, and EJB roles
  • Minimum of 1 year knowledge or experience with two or more of the following: JPA/Hibernate, Struts 2.0 framework, web development (Node.js, Angular JS, HTML, JavaScript, jQuery, and CSS)
  • Minimum of 1 year knowledge or experience with SQL and Relational Databases including Oracle, MySQL, PostgreSQL, or DB2
  • Must be US Citizen or Permanent Resident (Green Card Holder)
  • Must be able to obtain and maintain a US Public Trust Clearance
Preferred Qualifications:
Candidates with these skills will be given preferential consideration.
  • Proficient in MS Word, MS PowerPoint, MS Excel, and MS Visio
  • Development, Design, and Production Support experience
  • Ability to contribute to design and architecture discussions
  • Validation, Manual Testing and Automation Testing experience
  • Experience in creating design/technical documentation
  • Experience in different application servers
  • Experience in developing design patterns and UML
  • Experience with Agile/Scrum tools and methodologies (including Version One, Rally or JIRA)
  • Proficient in Extensible Markup Language (XML) and SharePoint
  • Extensive knowledge of SOA Principles, design patterns, application, and integration architectures
  • Experience with Unit Testing using JUnit
  • Prior SSA or Federal Government experience
