Sr. Principal Engineer Logistics

This position is offered as a Band 4 professional to perform the functions of a Logistics Program Manager (LPM). The successful candidate will perform as the primary Point of Contact (POC) for a variety of Logistics functions including, but not limited to, Prime Mission Equipment (PME) design, procurement, sparing, repair, support and test equipment design, technical documentation and training, and overall program and customer support. The successful candidate will be responsible for all Logistics matters within the Program, including contract, cost, and schedule requirements and have a general understanding of Earned Value Management (EVM). Strong team leadership, communication, and collaboration and customer interface skills are required.

The successful LPM candidate should possess the skills to implement effective Integrated Logistics Support (ILS) programs, as well as establish and manage corresponding budgets as indicators of overall Logistics performance. The ideal candidate will be knowledgeable in Logistics program planning, developing support strategies, generating proposals, negotiating contracts, producing technical reports, resolving Logistics issues, and providing timely responses to customer queries and requests for support. The candidate must also possess effective interface and presentation skills to successfully engage functional teams, Program and Executive Management, Engineering, Manufacturing, Supply Chain, Subcontractors, Suppliers, and Customers. Periodic domestic and/or international travel up to 10% will be required.

Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree in a STEM related discipline with at least 9 years related experience; OR a Master's Degree with at least7 years of related experience in the development and delivery of Logistics products and services, or 4 years related experience with a PhD

  • An understanding of all Logistics and Supportability Engineering elements and functions.

  • Effective organizational, leadership, and customer interface skills.

  • Ability to collaborate across multi-discipline functional teams.

  • US Citizenship with an active Secret clearance.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree with at least 10 years of related experience; OR a Master's Degree with at least 5 years of related experience in the development and delivery of Logistics products and services.

  • Demonstrated Logistics Program Management experience in the capture and delivery of Logistics products and services.

  • Strong understanding of the interrelationships of Logistics and Supportability Engineering functions.
