Northrop Grumman Aerospace Systems has an opening for aCyber Systems Engineerto join our team of qualified, diverse individuals. This position will be located in Melbourne, Florida

This position requires experience with Information Assurance or Cybersecurity implementations based on DoD, National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST), Committee on National Security Systems Instruction (CNSSI), or DoD Information Assurance Certification and Accreditation Process (DIACAP), and Risk Management Framework (RMF) processes, policies and guidelines. This position also requires knowledge and experience using systems engineering methodologies and techniques. The candidate must be able to prepare technical documents, support ongoing authorization inputs, develop procedures/processes/policies, and work in a fast changing dynamic environment. The role is responsible for Information Assurance/Cybersecurity Engineering duties as assigned. Experience with effective program execution and missions assurance is an important skill for successful candidates for this position.



Basic Qualifications:

HS Education and 6+ years of experience in cyber security OR

Associates degree from an accredited university and 4+ years of cyber Security experience OR

Bachelor's Degree from an accredited university and 2+ years Cyber security experience OR Master's degree from an accredited university
DoD final Secret security clearance and the ability to maintain it
Familiarity with Cybersecurity best practices
Possess an active appropriate certification as required by DoD Directive 8570.01-M IAT Level II (Security+ or equivalent)

Preferred Qualifications:

2+ years of experience with all phases of the RMF process.
2+ years of experience using or familiarity with tools such as Xacta and eMass as well as how these tools facilitate the RMF authorization process.
2+ years of experience validating security assessments and reviews
2+ years of experience with DoD Certification and Accreditation (C&A)/Assessment and Authorization (A&A) activities, security processes, and documentation/reporting using DIACAP, NIST, CNSSI, or National Industrial Security Program Operating Manual (NISPOM) guidance.
2+ years of experience submitting ongoing authorization artifacts to support certifying authority's continuous authorization decisions to operate and test decisions.
Familiarity/knowledge of both Windows and Linux based platforms.
Familiarity with documenting the security posture of a system and reporting on security controls assigned to the system.
Knowledge of fundamental information technology principles, concepts and techniques to including software languages, design concepts, test methods, and integration practices.
Knowledge of work products resulting from guidance in the Risk Management Framework (NIST SP 800-53) and Committee for National Security Systems Instruction (CNSSI 1253).
Knowledge of work products resulting from the application of the RMF to the DoD (DoDi 8500.01 Cybersecurity).

Knowledge of work products resulting from the application of NIST 800-171 (Controlled Unclassified Information).
