The Intel Software Systems Analyst supports a unique Joint Staff capability supporting the installation, integration, testing, evaluation, and synchronization of simulations and gaming tools used in future immersive training capabilities for Joint Training Exercises and Experiments. As member of the Joint Staff J7 team this Intel Software Systems Analyst is responsible for the administration and maintenance of and continued development of all the BASH, PERL and Java software that is supporting the Joint Training USMTF Message System (JTUMS).

Must ensure exercise INTEL USMTF products generated by the J7 INTEL Simulations are available to all of the various training audience's organic C4I systems. Individual will also serve as the system security manager, communications engineer/planner, Systems Administrator, and help desk operator for the Tactical Communications Support Processor (TCSP).

Develops, modifies, and maintains conventional computer programs. Integrates the hardware, software, programming, and database tasks.

Reviews all program documentation and ensure compliance with DoD hardware and software system configuration management policies.

Assists in determining the operational requirements for local and wide area communications networks used by the computer program. Maintains and independently modifies as appropriate, the computer program event process and other utility software that may be required for mission support tasks. Monitors computer program, C4I, and LANs, support and initiates remedial or improvement activities as appropriate.

Determines operational specifications for local and wide area communications networks used by the computer programs.

Basic Qualifications:Bachelor's degree from an accredited university/college with 2 years of relevant experience, 4 years of additional experience in lieu of degree will be considered.

To be considered for this position, you must minimally meet the knowledge, skills, and abilities listed below:

  • Must possess an Active U.S. TOP Secret security clearance and SCI Eligible

  • Must be DoD 8570 IAT II Compliant with:

    • a. Current Security+ CE Certification

    • b. Current OS Certification (Windows or Linux)

  • Must be familiar with RedHat Operating System/LINUX.

  • Must be familiar with DIA/ IA (Defense Intel Agency/ Information Assurance) auditing and security requirements for a DOD communications system.

  • Must have experience in the intelligence field with emphasis on collection, tactical fusion, and order of battle.

  • Experience with Department of Defense messaging systems such as Defense Message System (DMS) and Exchange E-mail System, and other legacy messaging systems (e.g., Automatic Digital Network (AUTODIN), Message Distribution Terminal (MDT)

  • Experience in the performance of message generation, re-sectioning, dissemination, release, edit, scrub, un-scrub, delete, create templates and recall message (ACP-128 (JANAP-128), DOI-103 and DD-173) procedure


Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience with the installation and management of Oracle (Version 10, 11)

  • Experience with networks to include 10/100/1000 ethernet, IP addressing schemes, and VLANs

  • Experience with DISA Gold Disk and STIGS

  • Thorough understanding of Defense Intel Agency (DIA) & (DISA) process and procedures.

  • Experience with modeling and simulations. Experience working in battle simulations centers with a combination of the following simulations (Joint Live Virtual Constructive (JLVC), Tactical Simulation (TACSIM), Corps Battle Simulation (CBS), War Simulation (WARSIM), Joint Theater Level Simulation (JTLS), Joint Conflict and Tactical Simulation (JCATS), National War-Gaming system (NWARS), and NWARS NG (next generation), MUSE, AFSERS, and TENCAP is a plus.

  • Experience in DoD C2 Communications systems.

  • Operating system certification (LINUX)
