This position supports a unique Joint Staff capability supporting the installation, integration, testing, evaluation, and synchronization of simulations and gaming tools used in future immersive training capabilities for Joint Training Exercises and Experiments. As member of the Joint Staff J7 team this Cyber Defense Specialistprovides Joint Staff J7 with journeymen to master Tier-3 Cyber Security System Administration support for USCYBERCOM mandated CND tools with primary focus on the Assured Compliance Assessment Solution (ACAS), the Host Based Security System (HBSS), and McAfee Network Security Manager. Primary task will be to develop, administer, troubleshoot, and monitor security configurations via ACAS and HBSS tools to aid CND Tier-3 analysts in maintaining the security posture and compliance requirements of the Joint Environments.



Basic Qualifications:



Bachelor's degree from an accredited university/college with 2 years of relevant experience, experience in lieu of degree will be considered.

Must be able to read and thoroughly understand network topologies

Must have a understanding of DoD Risk Management Framework Assessment and Accreditation Process.

Candidate must meet certification requirements with one of the below for DoD Information Assurance Technical (IAT) Level II.

?GIAC Security Essentials (GSEC)

?CompTIA Security + CE (SEC+)

?ISC2 - - Systems Security Certified Practitioner (SSCP®)

?Cisco Certified Network Associate (CCNA)

Candidate must also meet DoD Information Assurance Manager (IAM) Level III and have one of the following certifications:

?GIAC Security Leadership Certification (GSLC)

?Certified Information Security Manager (CISM)

?Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP) or Associate

Candidate must also have hands on experience with NEXUS scanner tools.

Hands on System Administer root access experience with the ACAS and HBSS CND tools.

    Preferred Qualifications:

    • Knowledge of modeling and simulations systems used by the US military

    • Experience with networks to include 10/100/1000 ethernet, IP addressing schemes, and VLANs.
