Northrop Grumman Mission Systems sector is seeking a Staff Systems Engineer. The qualified applicant will become part of Northrop Grumman's Product Support team in Bethpage, NY.
The Sr. Principal Systems Engineer in Product Support will possess the following expertise and abilities:
  • Experience as a technical lead
  • Working knowledge of and experience with each Logistics element, including: maintenance planning, training and manpower, technical data, supply support, sustaining engineering, ease of maintenance, design influence for supportability, and support cost factors of mission modules consisting of electro-mechanical, electronics, power, and structures equipment types; requires frequent and effective interface with design engineers
  • Strong understanding of logistics-related analysis/tools, process flow, interdependencies, maintenance policy integration, and logistics product data documentation
  • Complete task assignments with minimal supervision; must report risks, issues, resolutions and status to the Program Director; assume a leadership role when necessary
  • Tasks will include maintenance task analysis, level of repair analysis, reliability-centered maintenance, diagnostics, and facilities/support equipment requirements utilizing Failure Modes Effects and Criticality Analysis (FMECA) results, as well as requirements definition/verification.
  • Strong and effective customer communication skills and ability to be the primary and direct interface with the various Navy Logistics organizations and Warfare Centers
  • Ability to assist the customer in shaping requirements, and providing logistics project planning and analysis support to the Navy Warfare Center during the development, test, and early fielding of the Anti-submarine Warfare (ASW) mission modules
  • Analyze hardware and software characteristics of developing military systems to generate life-cycle sustainment requirements and influence equipment designs to improve supportability/maintainability
  • Collaborate with Navy Warfare Center engineering groups to develop and review diagnostics procedures, indicators, and maintenance actions
  • Ability to lead, guide, and manage a multi-location team and suppliers with diverse skill requirements including logistics engineering, reliability and maintainability, training, provisioning, and technical writing

Basic Qualifications:
  • Bachelors in a STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Math) discipline with14 or more years of experience with Bachelors,12 years with Masters,9 with PHD
  • Working experience as a technical lead in product support and logistics engineering
  • Strong systems thinking mindset
  • Ability to communicate effectively to internal and external customerswith strongleadership skills
  • Active DoDSecret clearance or higher

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Masters Degreein STEM, business, or management
