Northrop Grumman Technology Services sector is seeking a Senior Project Manager to join our team on the Internal Revenue Service's (IRS) Contact Center Environment project. The ideal candidate will exhibit experience with large Information Technology infrastructure upgrades. Additionally, the candidate will provide strategic planning documentation, monitoring and support for the IRS Contact Center Services Division. The ideal candidate will also exhibit senior level comprehension and ability to work closely with Executive level leadership. The candidate must have excellent written and oral communications skills with the ability to understand their audience and communicate appropriately with all levels of IRS management. This position will be located in Atlanta, GA.

Oversees and manages the operational aspects of ongoing projects and serves as liaison between project management, the planning/project teams, and front-line management. Reviews status of projects and budgets to Sr. leadership as well as managing schedules and preparing status reports. Assess project issues and develop resolutions to meet productivity, quality, and client-satisfaction goals and objectives. Develop mechanisms for monitoring project progress (Microsoft Project) and for intervention and problem solving with project managers, front line managers, and client staff.

Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree and a minimum of eight (8) years experience (4) additional years of experience in lieu of a Bachelors), preferably in the area of information technology and/or related field

  • Performed as a Project Manager for 12+ years

  • Ability to perform functional duties independently on high-visibility programs, or mission critical aspects of a given program

  • Experience performing under guidance of Executives in support as a trusted-advisor

  • Extensive experience interacting with clients and meeting facilitation,

  • Must be able to manage multiple IT projects at a time

  • Must have extensive experience with large IT infrastructure projects

  • Ability to oversee the efforts of direct reporting resources and/or be responsible for the efforts of all staff assigned to a specific job

  • Broad knowledge of PMI disciplines as outlined in the Project Management Body of Knowledge(PMBOK)

  • 10+ years experience with project start-ups particularly in defining project scope, developing work plans and project schedules, preparing project estimates, developing resource plans, and compiling project status reports

  • Extensive experience managing heterogeneous project teams composed of resources from multiple vendors/organizations

  • Extensive experience reviewing documentation such as requirements specifications, design documents, manuals, test plans/cases, test scripts and test reports

  • Ability to obtain and maintain a Treasury Minimum Background clearance

  • US Citizenship.


Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience training/mentoring less experienced Project Managers: 5+ years

  • Expertise with Microsoft Project and tracking 10-20+ projects at one time

  • Experience designing, implementing and maintaining a SharePoint site

  • Knowledge of and experience with ITIL processes

  • Documentation: 10 years
  • Managing/Facilitating development teams: 10 years

  • Ability to obtain Project Management Professional (PMP) certification within 1 year

  • Agile: 1+ year
