Northrop Grumman Innovation Systems designs, builds and delivers space, defense and aviation-related systems to customers around the world. Our main products include launch vehicles and related propulsion systems; missile products, subsystems and defense electronics; precision weapons, armament systems and ammunition; satellites and associated space components and services; and advanced aerospace structures.

Candidate will be responsible for managing electrical engineering staff on one or more Space Launch programs. Candidate will also be responsible for managing department cable design administrative staff and leading cable drawing release initiatives. Responsibilities involve working with others including upper management, EE department management, Program EE Leads, Program Engineering Management and all assigned direct reports.

Duties specific to the position will be assigned by the department Director and/or other Management staff. Specific responsibilities include working closely with EE program leads and program engineering managers to ensure adequate staffing resources are available and applied to meet program needs. Conduct interviews and provide hiring recommendations for various EE positions. Work quickly to address personnel issues and provide necessary training and individual direction to ensure a high quality workforce. Lead the performance appraisal process for the engineers responsible for managing. Ensure that applicable and detailed comments are provided to address employee performance and career advancement goals. Prepare weekly status reports and technical reports for department and upper management addressing various department metrics including design releases and department design errors. Make recommendations for process improvements that are recognized as authoritative and have a positive impact on engineering and NGIS. Provide engineering oversight and technical review to ensure that departmental and corporate policies and standards are adhered to. Act as the technical lead for various proposals and other special assignment tasks. Experience with aerospace avionics is a required. Other duties as assigned.

Basic Qualifications:
Bachelors in Engineering and a minimum of 7 years work experience.
