The Systems Engineering team at Northrop Grumman Mission Systems (NGMS) is looking for you to join our team as aSenor Principal Systems Engineerbased out of Point Mugu, CA.

The Senior PrincipalSystems Engineer will be supportin our Airborne Electronic Attack (AEA) / Electronic Warfare (EW) programs. All tasking will be performed at Naval Air Warfare Center Point Mugu, CA.

The Systems Engineer responsibilities include:

  • Interact with various users, develop an understanding as to what their needs are, document the understanding, get feedback from the users on the documented needs, analyze how the new needs will affect the existing software, share the needs with the software developers, and document the software requirements in DOORS or TFS.
  • Prepare and give presentations for requirement and design meetings with customers and other stakeholders.
  • Prepare estimates on future work.
  • Conduct requirement and design peer reviews.
  • Develop design approaches.
  • Participate and contribute to Peer Reviews, critical milestone reviews and technical interchange meetings

Basic Qualifications fora Principal Systems Engineer:

  • Bachelors Degree with at least 5 years of related technical experience; Masters degree with 3 years experience; PhD with 0 years experience
  • Must have an active DoDSecret Clearance or higher
  • Experience with deriving requirements, design, development and testing of system integrations
  • Experience with hardware and software integration
  • Resolution of system defects
  • Ability to work on own initiative to contribute to completion of milestone
  • Collaborate with customer, internal NGC sites and disciplines
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills and the ability to work well in a close team environment

Basic Qualifications for a Senior Principal Systems Engineer:

  • Bachelors Degree with at least9 years of related technical experience; Masters degree with7 years experience; PhD with4 years experience
  • Must have an active DoD Secret Clearance or higher
  • Experience with deriving requirements, design, development and testing of system integrations
  • Experience with hardware and software integration
  • Resolution of system defects
  • Ability to work on own initiative to contribute to completion of milestone
  • Collaborate with customer, internal NGC sites and disciplines
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills and the ability to work well in a close team environment

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Knowledge of Electronic Warfare principles
  • Microsoft Office
  • CMMI
  • Experience with RF and Airborne Electronic Attack systems
