Northrop Grumman Aerospace Systems has an opening for Software Engineer Air Vehicle to join our team of qualified, diverse individuals. This position will be located in Melbourne, Florida.

Essential Functions:
  • Work in a cross-discipline collaborative environment to develop software for flight/safety-critical and modeling applications

  • Participation in the full lifecycle of software development to include C++ coding to high assurance coding standards

  • Participate in software integration activities such as debugging on target hardware

  • Created automated scripts for formal validations
  • Create software requirements, design/interface documentation, and support for program reviews

Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in a Science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics (STEM) discipline from an accredited university and 5 years of experience in software engineering OR

  • Master's degree in a Science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics (STEM) discipline from an accredited university and 3 years of experience in software engineering

  • PhD degree in a Science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics (STEM) discipline from an accredited university and 0 years of experience in software engineering

  • Experience developing software/writing code in C/C++

  • An active, in-scope Secret Level DoD Security Clearance

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience in object-oriented analysis and design

  • Experience in an automated testing environment

  • Experience with Agile software development

  • Experience with VxWorks and RTOS development

  • Experience with VectorCAST

  • Experience developing software for embedded systems

  • Experience with automation

  • Experience with Python or similar scripting language

  • Knowledge of high assurance software, flight critical software (DO-178), ARINC standards, CMMI (3-5), hardware/software interfaces, programming of embedded processor utilizing Real Time Operating System (RTOS), real-time and post-processing data analytics, object-oriented programming, and design patterns
