Northrop Grumman Mission Systems is seeking a qualified cybersecurity professional for an established Situational Awareness and Mission Readiness (SAMR) program that provides secure DoD communications for the Warfighter. The position may require travel to the Nellis Mission Operations Network (NMON), located in Las Vegas, Nevada, or other CONUS sites as required. The position is located in Orlando, FL

The candidate's responsibilities include:
Ensuring system security needs are established and maintained under the Risk Management Framework (RMF) process for operations development, security controls definition, security risk assessment, systems analysis, systems design, security assessments, systems security hardening, vulnerability testing and security compliance scanning and provide analytical support for security policy development and analysis
Documenting/supporting Assessment & Authorization activities necessary for Authority to Operate approvals
Participating in technical interchange meetings
Providing support for development and enhancement of security engineering inputs to program documentation, Security Authorization packages, and Research & Development reports
Providing input to, and interface in customer meetings, or providing status input to higher level management

The ideal candidate will have direct work experience in the activities listed above. They must have a broad knowledge of IT systems, the impacts of system hardening on those systems, and experience diagnosing and resolving issues caused by the system hardening. The ideal candidate should be comfortable interacting with other cyber functional areas, internal company management and executives. The candidate must be willing to travel domestically.

This position may be filled at a higher grade based on the qualifications below.


This requisition may be filled at either the Cyber Systems Engineer or the Principal Cyber Systems Engineer level

Basic Qualifications:

Education/Experience Cyber Systems Engineer: Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or related discipline with 2 years of experience / 0 years with Masters / 4 additional years of experience can be substituted for degree requirement
Education/Experience Principal Cyber Systems Engineer: Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or related discipline with 5 years of experience / 3 years with Masters / 4 additional yearsof experience can be substituted for degree requirement

Basic Qualifications for Both Levels:
US Citizenship is required with an Active DoD Secretsecurity clearance and able to achieve Tier 1 access eligibility
Strong troubleshooting skills
Strong verbal and written communication skills
Proficiency with one or more Scripting Languages (i.e. Bash, Expect/TCL, PowerShell, Perl)
Demonstrated experience configuring Linux, Unix and Windows operating systems and applications
Demonstrated success working individually or as part of a team requiring little supervision
Must be able to work in a fast-paced environment
Ability to work outside of normal working hours and weekends as needed to support the customer's needs
Ability to function in multi-disciplinary environment
Good understanding of systems engineering processes
Current DoD 8570 Certification IAT Level II or higher (Security+, CISSP, etc.) or ability to obtain one within 6 months

Preferred Qualifications for Both Levels:
Active Top Secret/SCI DoD Clearance
Experience with the Risk Management Framework (NIST SP 800-53)
Vulnerability assessment experience
Working knowledge of Linux, Windows, network security, web security, application security, security assessments/testing, industry and DoD security best practices
Demonstrated experience configuring virtualized environments (VMWare ESXi)
Demonstrated experience with configuring Windows Registries and ACLs
Demonstrated experience configuring and using Nessus Vulnerability Scanner
