Northrop Grumman Aerospace Systems has an opening for an entry level Supportability Modeling and Simulation Engineer to join our team of qualified, diverse individuals located in Melbourne, Florida.

The selected candidate will be responsible for a variety of analyses related to the overall supportability of weapon systems and fleets.


Essential Functions:

  • Ensure consistency and quality of developed supportability models
  • Participate in the development of documentation for supportability models
  • Develop and maintain models for Availability, Operations and Support Costs, Logistics Footprint, Level of Repair, Spares Forecasting, and various other supportability models
  • Support evolving design through trade studies and impact analysis
  • Support the verification of system requirements using logistics models

The successful candidate is motivated to learn, communicates within the organization to capture inputs for required models, and applies technical prowess and critical thinking to a diverse set of analyses. They will be able to effectively manage their time to complete assigned tasks within a small team. They will be capable of applying mathematical and statistical concepts to evaluate big picture impacts to fleet performance. Finally, the candidate will have an exceptional eye for detail and be able to find the metaphorical needle in the haystack to validate and verify results.

Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree in a STEM discipline from anaccredited university and0-2 years of experience.
  • DoD Secret or Top Secret clearance withinthe last 5 years.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Familiarity with Excel Macros and VBA Scripting
  • Familiarity with Database concepts
  • Familiarity with Microsoft Access, Microsoft SQL Server, and Oracle
  • Familiarity with standard military support practices (TO, MIL-HDBKs, MIL-STDs, etc)
