Northrop Grumman Aerospace Systems has an opening for an Installation and Check Out (IACO) and Laboratory Acceptance Test (LAT) Test Manager to join our team of qualified, diverse individuals. This is a dual role Section Manager and Senior Test Engineer position located in Melbourne, Florida.


As a member of the Test Engineering Department, the successful candidate will help their section members understand our organization's vision and principles, build a culture that empowers and motivates individual excellence, and establish functional homeroom shared accountability for program performance. Section Manager responsibilities include working closely with the Test Engineering Department Manager and fellow section managers to implement department and CoE initiatives, ensuring successful planning and execution of program test engineering activities, collaborating with programs to satisfy staffing needs and providing operations support (incident investigations, metrics collection and analysis, etc.), setting Talent + goals and providing regular performance feedback to employees, supporting the annual salary review and promotion process, mentoring and developing the next generation of technical and project leadership, and improving and enforcing test engineering processes and procedures.


Our Installation and Check Out team evaluates lab drawings, requirements, and infrastructure with the goal of building test procedures that correctly test and demonstrate the lab. This testing ensures that highly technical capabilities are built correctly and in accordance with system requirements. As the IACO Manager you'll be responsible for leading the team as both the functional and assignment manager. This includes, but is not limited to assigning daily tasks and acting as the CAM (EVMS). This individual will also be responsible for planning and scheduling the team's time to meet program schedules and milestones. Additionally, the individual must work closely with their peers to ensure their statement of work is executable within our various labs spread across multiple sites. Basic Qualifications:

* Bachelor's degree within a Science, Technical, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) discipline with 5+ years of experience; OR Masters with 2+ years of experience or PHD with no previous experience

* Experience with planning a detailed schedule to accomplish development objectives

* Experience in integrating various types of systems

* An active In-Scope (reviewed in the last 6 years) DoD Secret Clearance with the ability to obtain and maintain program access prior commencement of employment

Preferred Qualifications:

* Experience evaluating hardware and software requirement to define hardware integration of subsystems into an integrated system level lab environment

* Experience in integrating hardware systems.

* Previously acted as a CAM and tracked progress utilizing EVMS.

* Experience briefing managers, senior program leadership and customers.

* Presentation and Chart (Microsoft Office, Milestone) making experience.

* Experience planning and executing successful test events within a System Test Lab.

* Previous experience with team engagement.
