Northrop Grumman Aerospace Systems has an opening for an Engineer Systems to join our team of qualified, diverse individuals. This position will be located in Melbourne FL.

Essential Functions:

* Good writing and oral communication skills.

* General frequent use and application of technical standards, principles, theories, concepts and techniques.

* Demonstrates the skill and ability to perform moderately complex professional tasks.

* Support functional analysis, timeline analysis, detail trade studies, requirements allocation and interface definition studies to translate customer requirements into hardware and software specifications.

* Support providing solutions to a variety of technical problems of increasing scope and complexity as assigned.

* Support analyses at all levels of total system product to include: concept, design, fabrication, test, installation, operation, maintenance and disposal.

* Support the logical and systematic conversion of customer or product requirements into total systems solutions.

* Support technical planning, system integration, verification and validation, and supportability and effectiveness analyses for total systems.

The selected candidate should thrive in a fast-paced work environment with high expectations, significantly diverse assignments, collaborative/team settings across all levels.

Basic Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's Degree in a Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics (STEM) discipline from an accredited university with 2+ years of engineering experience OR
  • Master's Degree in a Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics (STEM) discipline from an accredited university
  • Ability to obtain a DoD Secret security clearance
  • Ability to obtain additional Special Access Program (SAP) clearance (contingency)

Preferred Qualifications:

* Active DoD Secret security clearance (investigation updated within last 5 years)

* Experience in requirements management (i.e. analysis, traceability, ability to write requirements verification statements)

* Knowledge of the IBM Rational Dynamic Object Oriented Requirements System (DOORS)

* Military Aircraft DoD programs experience

* Understanding of common Systems Engineering processes and procedures

* Model Based Systems Engineering academic or work-related experience

* System Design behavior analysis academic or work-related experience
