We areseeking an experienced Materials Engineer.

This candidate may be a Materials and Processes generalist but should have experience with manufacturing and processing of composite materials as well as interfacing with offsite suppliers.

Responsibilities may include but are not limited to the following:

Analyzes, researches, designs and develops materials and their related fabrication and application processes to develop and optimize materials for use in engineering design of and/or application in structures, systems and subsystems. Applies principles of chemistry, physics, and material behavior to develop metallic, non-metallic and composite material and processing specifications, fabrication and assembly processes. Develops, analyzes and applies material properties and design allowables, processing processes and quality engineering specifications. Material analyses may include failure analysis of components, systems and subsystems, life predictions, and definition and requirement specifications. May review and approve subcontractor material processing procedures.

Basic Qualifications:


Bachelor's degree in a Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) discipline from an accredited university with a minimum of 5 years of materials and processes experience in support of the design and fabrication of airframe structures or a Masters degree in a Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) discipline from an accredited university with a minimum of 3 years of materials and processes experience in support of the design and fabrication of airframe structures.

Experience with fabrication and repair processes for metallic or composite materials used in aerospace structures.

Ability to obtain and maintain a DoD Secret clearance as well asaccess to special programs.

Preferred Qualifications:

BS or MS, Materials Science or similar field.

An active DoD Secret Clearance with a periodic review/re-investigation within the last 5 years and the ability to obtain and maintain access to special programs.

Experience with composite fabrication and repair of aircraft structures

Experience with out of autoclave composites

Excellent verbal and written communication skills

Ability to collaborate in a team environment

Ability to prioritize multiple responsibilities and/or accomplishing them simultaneously

Ability to comprehend and analyze complex problems and develop solutions

Experience with military specs and standards.

Experience interfacing with a military customer.
