Sr Principal Cyber Software Engineer

Northrop Grumman Mission Systems Sector/Integrated Intelligence business unit is seeking a Software Developer for a program that provides large scale development, testing, deployment and O&M for the HUMINT community. The successful candidate will take part in a full life cycle development of components using COTS, GOTS, and various in-house applications.
This position is in Chantilly, VA and requires a TS/SCI/Poly clearance.

Roles & Responsibilities:
Design, build and deploy highly scalable, resilient, perform ant services
Develop code using various programming and scripting languages
Adhere to approved design plans and coding standards
Work in an integrated team to continually improve DevOps posture
Maintain responsibility for software components ensuring proper standards, testing, and best practices are followed
Work with current application teams to understand current analytics and make migration recommendations of legacy analytical software to analytic microservices in the cloud environment
Serve as an expert resource within the development team's efforts to determine the needs of the business that will simplify and automate the application services as well as make them more efficient
Provide guidance and support to less experienced team members
Follow appropriate implementation and change management procedures
Ensure appropriate level of documentation is prepared and baselined
Review test plans, test files, and scripts for unit testing through integration testing
Collaborate with user interface designer(s) to ensure developed software integrates seamlessly
Identify complex problems and review related information to develop and evaluate options and implement new ones.
Focus on innovating new and better ways to create software solutions that add value


Basic Qualifications:
Master's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering with 9 years of technical experience. Additional 6 years specialized experience in a scientific or technical discipline in the areas of Computer and or Information Technology may be considered in lieu of a degree.
Minimum of 5 years of experience writing RESTful API code
Demonstrated product knowledge and experience with Java middle-tier and back-end technologies (e.g. Servlets, Hibernate ORM, Spring MVC, Spring Boot)
Product knowledge and demonstrated experience writing backend code to interface with a relational database (e.g. Oracle, MS SQL Server, PostgreSQL), a NoSQL database (e.g. MongoDB, AWS DynamoDB, Cassandra), and/or file-based storage system (e.g. AWS Elastic File Storage, GlusterFS, extfs)
Demonstrated experience in continuous integration and delivery tools (e.g. Jenkins, CircleCI, Puppet, Chef, Ansible, SaltStack, etc.)
Demonstrated experience in writing legacy UI code (i.e. Java Swing, Ext.js, JSP/HTML)
Demonstrated experience in deploying front-end UIs and back-end software to web/application servers (i.e. Apache HTTPD, Apache Tomcat, Web Logic, IIS, HttpCore)
Demonstrated experience working in an Agile scrum team work environment

TS/SCI/Poly clearance


Preferred Qualifications:
Experience in Big Data database design, development, and operations and maintenance of petabyte scale databases
Understanding of basic C2S services
Experience write code for analytic applications
Experience writing UIs with a modern Javascript framework, such as Angular, React.js, or Vue.js
Experience writing Python scripts or other scripting language (i.e. Bash, Ruby, etc.)
Experience working at a Customer site
Experience with a legacy object-oriented database, such as Objectify
Demonstrated knowledge of DevOps, Release engineering and Operations approach to automate deployments.
Demonstrated experience in Windows 2012 and Solaris Operating Systems
Demonstrated experience in deep technical understanding of Cloud architecture
Demonstrated hands-on experience with distributed cross-platform applications, orchestration and security
Excellent knowledge and demonstrated experience of software quality process/assurance including automation testing, unit/integration testing, design/code review, code profiling and software continuous integration and continuous deployment pipelines
Working knowledge and demonstrated experience with data volume analysis methodology
