Northrop Grumman Mission Systems has an opening for an Industrial Engineer Level 2/3 to join our team of qualified, diverse individuals. This position is located in Rolling Meadows, IL and will report to the site Industrial Engineering Manager.

Job Responsibilities:
Analyzes sequence of operations and work flow to improve operational efficiencies in manufacturing and production environments. Leverage quantitative and qualitative data and technology to drive critical problem solving and provide customers with the experience and knowledge to operate as a world class manufacturing organization. Drives to optimize our manufacturing processes by eliminating waste of time, money, materials, person-hours, machine time and other resources that do not generate value.

Responsible for reporting and monitoring manufacturing KPI metrics related to Cost, Producibility and Schedule performance to drive operational efficiency.
On the basis of KPI, interprets trends and identifies areas for improvement, prioritizes progress and monitors progress for effective correction actions.
Provide accurate and timely weekly, monthly and quarterly status reviews with manufacturing leadership
Collaborate cross-functionally with Manufacturing, Quality and Supply Chain.
Provide ad-hoc reporting of manufacturing data and various data call requests.
Support equipment capacity and utilization reporting.
Support facilities engineering with room layout/design, ergonomics and 5S evaluations in manufacturing.
Act as a Continuous Improvement resource and advocate for lean problem solving.



Basic Qualifications:

Industrial Engineer
Two years relevant experience in Manufacturing, Industrial Engineering and Lean concepts

Principal Industrial Engineer
Fiveyears relevant experience in Manufacturing, Industrial Engineering and Lean concepts

Qualifications for Both Levels:
Bachelors of Science Degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Math (STEM) with preference to Industrial Engineering degree.

Strong analytical and problem solving skills with experience with large data sets, interpreting trends and statistical analysis to quickly turn data/reports into meaningful insights.
Highly proficient in Root Cause Analysis (RCA) and Corrective Action investigations.
Ability to understand, assist and execute RCA driving processes to full root cause and subsequent impactful solutions.
Demonstrate highly effective interpersonal and collaborative skills.
Excellent oral and written communication and presentation skills with ability to interact at all professional levels.
US Citizen and ability to obtain DoD Security Clearance.

Preferred Qualifications:

Six Sigma Green Belt Certified.
Working knowledge of the Infra-Red Counter Measures (IRCM) product line design, manufacturing and test.
Working knowledge of the Radio Frequency Combat Information Systems (RFCIS) product line and RF/Microwave design, manufacturing and test.
Working knowledge of Microelectronics manufacturing and test.
Experience in defense, aerospace, or automotive industries.
Experience with SAP or other Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) systems.
Experience with querying database using SQL.
Experience with Minitab creating control charts and box plots
Experience with Business Intelligence and visualization tools such as Tableau.
