Northrop Grumman is seeking a data-driven, highly analytic minded Operations Research Analyst to work in the Joint Distribution Process Analysis Center (JDPAC) at USTRANSCOM. The teammate will be responsible for business case analysis supporting a wide range of operational and business needs (to include operational cost) within the Joint Deployment and Distribution Environment (JDDE).

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide support for current and future ongoing and near-term operational distribution challenges as required

  • Analyze effectiveness and efficiency of cargo data and sustainment/distribution networks for various lines of business

  • Coordinate with functional experts to develop and implement new networks based on cost, performance, and efficiency constraints

  • Lead and administrate USTRANSCOM Deployment and Distribution Cost Based Decision Support (D2 CBDS) program

Basic Qualifications:

  • BA/BS from accredited college or university in Math, Physics, Statistics, Operations Research, Business, Accounting, Management or related field with 5 years experience, Masters with 3 years or PhD.

  • Basic skills in Microsoft Office Suite

  • Active DoD Secret clearance (interim clearance needed to start work)

  • Must enjoy working in a team environment with frequent customer contact and have excellent oral communication and interpersonal skills (especially public speaking and educating)

  • Demonstrated skills in solving problems and responsibility for ensuring customer satisfaction

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Advanced skills in Microsoft Office Suite

  • Experience with Cognos use and capabilities

  • Experience with operational or financial cost analysis related to a working capital funds

  • DoD transportation experience

  • D2 CBDS applied or practical experience
