Northrop Grumman Mission Systems Sector is seeking a Supplier Quality Manager 2 to join our team of qualified, diverse individuals in Rolling Meadows, Illinois.

The Supplier Quality Manager 2 is responsible for the direct management of the Supplier Quality personnel. This position requires extensive people leadership and collaboration skills to successfully work across a variety of functional areas (Global Supply Chain, Manufacturing, Engineering, and Program Mission Assurance) to successfully support delivery of quality products to a large number of programs across the Aircraft Survivability (ACS) Business Unit (BU).

Responsible for Supplier Quality risk management. Develops and implements supplier quality evaluation and control systems. Assures supplier process and product quality, including contractual, regulatory, and technical compliance. Interfaces directly with supplier personnel and must be knowledgeable in and capable of assessing both supplier quality and manufacturing processes and procedures. Conducts product and process verification activities, monitors supplier quality performance, and drives root cause corrective action analysis for supplier quality issues. Supports the maintenance of the approved supplier list and periodically reviews supplier performance to determine whether suppliers should remain on the approved list. Manages supplier requests for waivers, deviations and discrepancy reporting process. Keeps management apprised of supplier performance, quality status, and risks. Coordinates and oversees Supplier Quality plan implementation through all program phases. Actively engages in supplier evaluation, qualification and selection as part of the Business Acquisition Process (BAP) and as new procurements are required on existing programs. Manages implementation of Supplier Quality processes, including supplier approval activities, source selection evaluations, supplier classification designation (Critical, Key and Standard), development and execution of supplier quality risk assessments and mitigation plans, and supplier quality requirements development and flow-downs.

Roles and Responsibilities:
  • Manage Supplier Quality Personnel to:
  • Evaluate all suppliers' compliance to the Mission Assurance and Quality Management System requirements that have been flowed down to the supplier.
  • Plan, organize ,direct, and report on all supplier quality related activities such as raw materials, packaging materials, good manufacturing practices (GMP)service providers, as well as contract manufacturers, and/or contract manufacturing and laboratories to assure fulfillment of contract/purchase order requirements.
  • Assure that customer quality imposed technical requirements are adhered to by supplier and that a quality system is maintained.
  • Conduct programs designed to improve supplier performance, productivity, and process validation.
  • Prepare, maintain, and review procurement quality assurance procedures to assure compliance with customer and/or government requirements.
  • Review and analyze corrective action reports and purchase orders in an effort to reduce and eliminate defects.
  • Monitor quality control activities and systems at suppliers and subcontractor facilities, and maintain feedback loops.
  • Audit third party manufacturers
  • Perform due diligence and supplement vendor selection process.
  • Ensures supplier management is executed during the acquisition phase (e.g., make/buy decisions, teaming decisions, capability evaluations, and subcontract/purchase order creation.)
  • Ensures the Quality section within the SOW is in alignment with Sector/Customer contractual requirements and ensure consistent flow down of customer contractual requirements.
  • Analyzes customer MA requirements and assures products and services adhere to plans, processes, and requirements.
  • Ensures deviation/variance investigations are performed with appropriate SMEs creating the applicable documentation to document the deviation/variance and collaborates with engineering functions to ensure all actions are completed in a timely manner.
  • Ensures timely, complete response to Sentinel alerts. Responsible for risk assessment and verification of assigned alert action completion.
  • Ensures quarterly supplier evaluations are completed on time and entered into the SAMS database. Ensure quarterly SAMS evaluations are reflected in supplier charts presenting in PMRs along with any comments for yellow/red items.
  • Ensures proper RCCAs address documented supplier related defects. Validate the effectiveness of RCCAs addressed and implemented within the supply base.
  • Ensures the creation and documentation of First Article plans for new, applicable DMS re-designs and ECP' s; and that they are completed as scheduled and in accordance with contractual requirements.

MAQEA
Basic Qualifications: To be considered for this position, you must minimally meet the knowledge, skills, and abilities listed below:

  • Bachelor' s Degree in Electrical, Mechanical, Manufacturing Engineering and/or applicable STEM Degree.
  • 5+ years of relevant experience and demonstrated direct application of supplier quality management and control on hardware development, and production programs as Sub-Contracts, Engineering, and/or Mission Assurance.
  • Experience leading teams and/or projects.
  • Attention to detail coupled with the ability to quickly learn, assess, and evaluate new processes/procedures with minimal supervision.
  • Experience selecting and coordinating key metrics and subsequently presenting meaningful data for project review, and ability to generate and analyze quantitative data.
  • Excellent written and verbal interpersonal communication, leadership, and mentoring skills and confidence to brief upper management.
  • Demonstrated ability to drive risk mitigation, opportunity capture, and resolve issues resolution across all stakeholder disciplines throughout all phases of the product development lifecycle on a fast paced, complex, dynamic, high visibility program.
  • Familiarity with hardware development and production programs.
  • Must be able to obtain a Secret Clearance.


Preferred Qualifications: -Candidates with these desired skills will be given preferential consideration:
  • RF /Electrical / Electro Optical background
  • SAP Business System experience
  • Six Sigma Green Belt or Black Belt Certification-Agile Certification
  • Experience with capacity analysis tools
