Northrop Grumman Technology Services sector is seeking a Solutions Architect to join our team of qualified, diverse individuals. The qualified applicant will become part of Global Services Division Technology & Engineering organization

Roles and Responsibilities:

The Solution Architect will play a critical role in the analysis, design, development and implementation of architectures, solutions, and technical strategies for mission and information systems for division's most strategic business acquisitions. The candidate shall have extensive prior experience developing system architectures, defining key capabilities and performance requirements, designing and integrating diverse information technologies, managing complex internal / external system interfaces, developing enterprise architectures, and collaborating with customers. The Solution Architect should be viewed (with the company and external) as a systems engineering / architecture / design expert. The successful candidate will be an outwardly facing representative of the company and must possess a demonstrated ability to effectively communicate with wide ranging government personnel, strategic suppliers, and business pursuit partners. The preferred candidate may be called upon to develop information which extends knowledge in a given domain and may form the basis of newly developed concepts, theories and products.

  • will be part of a high-performing team and play a significant role in Northrop Grumman's efforts to expand its portfolio across the market. The candidate's work is checked only to the effectiveness of results obtained, typically requiring long-term strategic perspectives and will be virtually self-supervised. The candidate's decisions and recommendations will have a long-term effect on organization reputation and business posture.
  • must be adept at supporting a variety of customer problem domains, leading the definition of solutions, and transforming those proposed solutions into compelling technical proposal deliveries. These solutions will address complex technical problems and often require highly advanced technical principles, theories, and concepts.
  • will participate in speaking engagements, briefings, and thought leadership activities representing Northrop Grumman.
  • must have a grasp of advanced technical principles, theories, and concepts and be capable of contributing to the development of new principles and concepts. The successful candidate has demonstrated experience in defining system implementation approaches and operational concepts, ensuring requirements are met and evaluation of system performance. These efforts will include assessing Northrop Grumman's market position versus competitors and determining common technologies and partnerships required to scale in this market
  • must be capable of understanding the technological needs of the customer and through a comparison with existing NGC solutions define potential Research & Development (R&D) objectives to fill capability gaps and accomplish long-range objectives.
  • must possess significant experience supporting proposal efforts, development of technical project plans, and a demonstrated ability work with and collaboratively lead an extensive technical team.
  • must have a history of delivering results, maintaining a high-level of commitment to personally getting things done, delivering top quality products, making good decisions in a timely and confident manner, solving difficult problems through careful and systematic evaluation of information, possible alternatives and consequences and taking complex issues and solutions and describing them in a simple manner.

Basic Qualifications:

  • A minimum of 14+ Years with Bachelors in Science; 12+ Years with Masters; 9+ Years with PhD, with significant experience in project management, requirements gathering, and software / systems engineering
  • Demonstrated ability to attract and obtain major new company business
  • Demonstrated ability to develop highly discriminating and advanced solutions addressing widely applicable customer requirements resulting in new product/business opportunities for the company
  • Demonstrated ability to develop advanced technological ideas and transition these ideas from development into a final product. Ability to uncover and resolve issues associated with the development and implementation of operational programs
  • Serves as organization spokesperson on advanced projects and/or programs. Acts as advisor to management and customers on advanced technical research studies and applications.
  • Demonstrated ability to earn and maintain respect of strong technology and mission-oriented staff and customers. Experience mentoring technical employees
  • Travel will be required to support mission critical program locations and customer locations

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Recent Agile, Scaled Agile Framework (SAFe), systems engineering or development experience
  • Industry certification(s) within cloud, systems engineering, or cyber domains. Significant relevant experience is a suitable replacement for certifications
  • Experience developing proposal material or leading proposal teams
  • Prior experience with defense, civil federal, state& local, commercial customers
