Northrop Grumman Mission Systems sector is seeking a qualified Facilities Planner to join our team of qualified, highly talented and diverse individuals. This position will be located in the Mclean, VA area and is responsible for supporting a full range of large building Facilities Support with an emphasis on protecting and supporting sensitive operations.

Position Description:

The ideal candidate plans utilization of building space and facilities for company consistent with requirements of organizational efficiency, and available facility resources and funding. Individual will be responsible for planning, directing, and managing all phases of equipment and machinery maintenance, facilities modification and building project upgrades from establishment of design concepts through development and implementation. Candidate will ensure project requirements are clearly defined and acceptable by the customer. Candidate will act as primary contact for facilities, and equipment and machinery maintenance, project activities and leads project reviews of cost, schedule and technical performance with the Program Manager. Candidate will work with the Program Manager to identify problems and develop solutions, such as allocation of required resources or staffing potential project scope changes with the customer. May coordinate the work of employee(s) assigned to the project. Assist the Program Manager establishes milestones and monitors adherence to master plans, budgets and schedules. The Facilities Planner shall be responsible for supporting both internal and external customers in a dynamic and fast paced environment.

Responsibilities include:

Facilities activities in support of proper building maintenance and support on behalf of the client


Plans utilization of building space and facilities for company consistent with requirements of organizational efficiency, and available facility resources and funding


Responsible for planning, directing, and managing all phases of equipment and machinery maintenance, facilities modification and building project upgrades from establishment of design concepts through development and implementation


Ensure project requirements are clearly defined and acceptable by the customer


Acts as primary contact for facilities, and equipment and machinery maintenance, project activities and leads project reviews of cost, schedule and technical performance along with the Program Manager


Works with the Program Manager to identify problems and develop solutions, such as allocation of required resources or staffing potential project scope changes with the customer


Will coordinate the work of employee(s) assigned to the project


Will use Excel software for functional area, to assist PM compile and track facility tasks


Provides cleaning and other escort services when required


Reports directly to the Program Manager and performs job duties with minimal supervision

Basic Qualifications:


AA Degree and 6 years of facility or construction related experience, or a Bachelor's degree and 2 years of facility or construction related experience

Must have experience with facilities related topics such as: equipment and machinery maintenance associated with a large, several story building, building projects and upgrades, and experience interacting successfully with vendors

Candidate will be required to perform hands-on building corrective maintenance as well as address emergency building/facility issues when they arise and must know what facilities tasks can be completed by Program Staff or by Vendor personnel

Experience and success interacting with customers as candidate will very often serve as facility liaison between customer and vendors

Must have active/current TS/SCI with Polygraph clearance

Preferred Qualifications:

Ability to maintain flexibility to deal with changing priorities, deadlines, and emergent requirements

Candidate will be required to learn and utilize purchasing procedures


Working knowledge of Microsoft Office (Word and Excel)
