Northrop Grumman Communications organization is seeking a highly skilled communications professional to join our team to support internal communication efforts on for a strategic capture.
Qualified candidates must be prepared to thrive in a highly active environment that demands innovative thinking and use of tools to effectively communicate to a geographically dispersed workforce as well as to customers, the public, industry, stakeholders and others.

This position will be located in Roy Utah and report to the Director of Communications, based in Falls Church VA.


This position will work with the senior leadership team to develop an integrated internal strategic communications strategy and plan to communicate changes, improvements, incentives and initiatives to stakeholders throughout the sector. Overall requirements include a proven track record in internal communications, strategy development and execution, ability to shape, plan and manage internal stakeholders. The candidate must have excellent research and writing skills that demonstrate an ability to comprehend and explain complex activities to a geographically dispersed workforce.
Partner with senior management and internal stakeholders to develop creative content (films, videos, articles) for employees so they may connect with and understand the Northrop Grumman brand, culture, values, business strategies and initiatives.
Develop, write and edit stories for the company's employee magazine.
Represent the sector on the company's editorial board.
Oversee the employee communications editorial calendar.
Serve as a strategic communications counselor to key business units to help develop the company's culture.
Develop and execute employee communications initiatives designed to support key business objectives, long-term goals and projects.
Develop a creative communications plan/channel plan to generate employee engagement with produced content.
Develop metrics to assess the effectiveness and impact of employee communications initiatives and tools. Recommend actions based on metric results.

Basic Qualifications:

Minimum of 8 years of related experience-in external and/or internal corporate communications, leadership consultation and/or communication strategy development and deployment-with a Bachelor's degree in journalism, marketing, business, communications, public relations or public affairs. An additional 4 years of experience may be substituted in lieu of a degree.
Proven ability to write professional, original content with minimal supervision.
Strong writing and editing skills
Must be able to obtain and maintain a DoD Secret security clearance.
U.S. Citizenship is required.
Travel required 10 to 15%




Preferred Qualifications:

Experience working with the military, defense industry or government a plus.
Experience working in a large, matrixed and/or geographically dispersed organization
Strong verbal and written communications skills.
Ability to collaborate with and influence others.
Skilled in managing multiple projects/activities simultaneously and meeting deadlines.
Self-starter with a demonstrated ability to work independently.
Professional acumen to develop relationships with various types and levels of professionals.
Possess a DoD Secret security clearance
