Northrop Grumman is seeking a Cyber Protection Tool Developer to conduct network or software vulnerability assessments and penetration testing utilizing reverse engineering techniques. Perform vulnerability analysis and exploitation of applications, operating systems or networks. Identifies intrusion or incident path and method. Isolates, blocks or removes threat access. Evaluates system security configurations. Evaluates findings and performs root cause analysis. Performs analysis of complex software systems to determine both functionality and intent of software systems. Resolves highly complex malware and intrusion issues. Contributes to the design, development and implementation of countermeasures, system integration, and tools specific to Cyber and Information Operations. May prepare and presents technical reports and briefings. May perform documentation, vetting and weaponization of identified vulnerabilities for operational use.

Qualifications:

Basic Qualifications:

STEM degree with 9 years of applicable experience

Active Top Secret SCI with CI Polygraph

Strong C and/or Python programming language experience

Experience with one or more software/system analysis tools such as Wireshark, IDAPro, OllyDebug, WinDBG, or other low-level system analysis tools

Experience developing software for multiple operating system environments

Ability to develop and implement shell code
Preferred Qualifications:

Ability to understand secure / insecure programming concepts (format string vulnerabilities, heap overflows, etc.)

  • Background in Malware analysis/ reverse engineering
  • Vulnerability Research/analysis
  • Penetration testing experience


OS Internals experience

Development of lower level networking protocols such as IP, TCP, and UDP

Understanding of return oriented programming (ROP) concepts and execution

Ability to develop and implement shell code
