Northrop Grumman Space Systems (NGSS) is looking for you to join our team as a Software Engineer or Principal Software Engineer to become part of the Ground-Based Midcourse Defense (GMD) Development and Sustainment Contract (DSC) in support of the Missile Defense Agency. The GMD element, composed of the Ground Systems (GS) and Ground Based Interceptor (GBI) components, is a critical part of our nation's layered Ballistic Missile Defense System providing the U.S. with the capability to engage and intercept long range ballistic missiles during midcourse flight based out of Colorado Springs, CO.


What You'll get to Do:
  • Design, develop, document, test and debug applications software and systems that contain logical and mathematical solutions.
  • Conducts multidisciplinary research and collaborates with designers and Requirement engineers in the planning, design, development, and utilization of software.


This requisition may be filled at a higher grade based on qualifications listed below.

Qualifications:

This requisition may be filled at either a level Software Engineer or Principal Software Engineer

Basic Qualifications:

  • Education/Experience Software Engineer are: 2 Years with Bachelors in Science; 0 Years with Masters; 4 years with an Associates; 6 years of relevant experience will be considered in lieu of a degree
  • Education/Experience Principal Software Engineer: 5 Years with Bachelors in Science; 3 Years with Masters; 0 Years with PhD; 7 years with an Associates; 9 years of relevant experience will be considered in lieu of a degree
  • Active Interim Secret security clearance
  • Proficient with Object oriented SW
  • Familiar with Microsoft Office products such as Word, Excel, Power Point.
  • Working knowledge of Agile development and testing environment
  • An understanding of the Systems Engineering Lifecycle
  • Familiarity with software development testing methodologies
  • Self-motivated, able to work in a dynamic team environment


Preferred Qualifications:

  • Interest in SW architecture
