Northrop Grumman is seeking a Software Engineering Manager to join our team of qualified, diverse individuals. This position will be located in Seaside, California.


The qualified applicant will become part of Northrop Grumman's DMDC BPA program, where technology and teamwork come together. As the qualified Software Engineering Manager, you will be responsible to lead, manage, and provide technical support and direction to web application development, cloud based and database solutions. Define plans and monitor quality and technical performance, coordinate the technical effort and establish operational plans to accomplish program objectives. You will be responsible for the interpretation of design and specification requirements and will be the focal for technical inquiries from external and internal customers. When required, the Software Engineering Manager writes competitive proposals and translates contract requirements into work instructions, processes and tasks.

Roles and Responsibilities:

• Define plans, programs, monitor quality and technical performance for operational product development.
• Implement and maintain consistent engineering practices, standards, and documentation procedures.
• Act as the primary technical contact regarding project performance and as an advisor to the customer.
• Work with proposal management and program management to identify new business opportunities, present product
capabilities, and clarify customer technical requirements.
• Mentor team members and serve as a resource to share knowledge; maintain technical and leadership capabilities
through continued education.
• Establish and stimulate software development standards and processes along with best practices for delivery of scalable and high quality software.
• Perform consultative services and functions as subject matter expert (SME) to senior leadership and staff to ensure that appropriate controls are in place to deliver cloud technology.

Qualifications:

Basic Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree and 10 years of progressive experience managing projects and/or direct reports.
• 5 years of software development experience.
• 5 years of project management experience.
• Demonstrated strong analytical, critical thinking and problem solving skills.
• Strong communication skills, particularly when orchestrating complex projects with interdependencies across multiple stakeholders
• U.S. Citizenship and the ability to obtain a Position of Public Trust Clearance & CAC to start; Must be able to obtain Secret clearance.

Preferred Qualifications:
• Prior experience in cloud based technologies (PaaS, IaaS and Cloud Infrastructure Services).
• Experience with web application/web services development using Java and Oracle.
• Experience with databases, ETL tools, Python.
• Current, Active Position of Public Trust clearance and the ability to obtain a Secret and/or Top Secret security clearance.
