Northrop Grumman has an immediate need for a Principal Industrial Engineer and this position will be located in Roy, Utah supporting GBSD efforts across multiple sites.

We are looking for talented, energetic, and motivated individuals to join our production operations team on GBSD. This individual will support the GBSD Industrial Engineering & Scheduling and OPM organization and program IPTs as the Production SME in discrete event simulation modeling. The qualified applicant will have a working knowledge and understanding of industrial engineering, production scheduling, capacity, and methods for maximum utilization of production facilities and personnel. Possess knowledge and understanding of master production scheduling, operations planning, analysis, and scheduling.

Responsibilities/Skills Requirements:

• Support and manage the design, development, implementation, and application of modeling and simulation tools which support assessment, experimentation, concept development, demonstrations, and alternate futures analysis and other analytical efforts
• Demonstrated hands-on analytical problem solving skills for conceiving solutions, testing hypothesis, communicating, getting buy-in and implementing decision support system(s)
• Experience with complex manufacturing/construction scheduling
• Ability to analyze, dissect, translate, synthesize and abstract (as necessary) system requirements and build simulation models according to those requirements
• Utilize discrete event simulation software to plan and optimize schedules and processes prior to execution. Work with the Manufacturing Engineers, Industrial Engineers, and Systems Engineers to identify, scope, and execute projects on existing process to improve inefficiencies
• Proficiency with a discrete event simulation software tool, such as Plant Simulation, Arena, Simio, AnyLogic, ProModel, FlexSim, Simul8, ExtendSim, SimEvents, JaamSim, etc.
• Strong domain expertise in at least one of the following areas: agent-based modeling, discrete event modeling, applied probability and statistics, or operations research
• Experience in Object-Oriented Programming (C++, C#, Java)
• Integrate simulation solutions into NGCs software and analytics architecture
• Work with NGC Teammates in delivering actionable decision support solutions to real and proof-of-concept problems
• Work with internal clients, project stakeholders and support partners to gather system design requirements and create technical specifications
• Strong written, oral and interpersonal communication skills, with particular experience in creating clear and concise presentations and communicating results and findings in meetings with clients, project stakeholders and support partners

This position's standard work schedule is a 9/80. The 9/80 schedule allows employees who work a nine-hour day Monday through Thursday to take every other Friday off.

Qualifications:

Basic Qualifications:
  • Bachelors of Science STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Math) degree
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience with Bachelor's; 3 years of experience with Master's
  • The ideal candidate should have experience with Data Science, Statistics, Predictive Analytics, Applied Mathematics, Operations Research, manufacturing and/or related quantitative field
  • Active Secret DoD security clearance.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Excel, Project, Power Point, discrete event simulation software experience


Preferred Qualifications:
  • 2 years of experience working with discrete event simulation
  • Experience in Siemens Teamcenter, Siemens Plant Simulation
  • Bachelor's of Science in Industrial Engineering
  • Must be able to maintain multiple simultaneous projects, working alone or in a team setting.
  • An Active, DOD Secret Security Clearance that has been granted or renewed within the last 5 years
  • Proven group facilitation, strong oral and written communication skills, and strong interpersonal and collaboration skills
