Northrop Grumman is seeking a Quality Assurance Engineer to support continued project enhancements for the new AKO Portal. The successful candidate will support the AKO Development team by thoroughly analyzing and testing new features, developing new/refining existing test scenarios and scripts, capturing and verifying application bugs, and reporting on related metrics. The primary location is Mclean, Virginia.

Q uality Assurance Engineer will be responsible for executing formal automated system testing activities.
Role and Responsibilities:
  • Develop test plans, test scenarios, test cases, test data and test scripts for various testing activities.
  • Ensure that testing conclusions and recommendations are fully supported by test results, and project managers are fully informed of testing status and application deviations from documented user requirements
  • Performs test case execution, test scripts, captures test results, report defects and test metrics.
  • Develops and maintains new and existing automation to improve test efficiency.
  • Documents defect & test results with accurate details to ensure defect reproduction.
  • Identifies quality issues, performs root cause analysis of defects and works with developers to resolve the problems.
  • Participate in risk management assessment and all SDLC phases
  • Creates, executes and maintains automated test scripts to verify application UI, Functionality and Performance.
  • Partners with test leads and architects to develop and establish QA standards and best practices.

This requisition may be filled at either a level 2 or a level 3.

Basic Qualifications for level 2 and 3 are:

Level 2:

  • Bachelor's in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics and a minimum of 2 years of Quality Assurance experience , or a Masters degree.

Level 3:

  • Bachelor's in a STEM or technical field and a minimum of 5 years of Quality Assurance experience, or a Master's with a minimum of 3 years, or a PhD.

Other Basic Qualifications are:
  • Active DoD Secret Clearance
  • 2 years of Quality Assurance experience with Bachelors in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics; 0 Years with Masters
  • C ompTIA Security+ or equivalent certification.
  • Experience creating/maintaining QA automation infrastructure and framework
  • E xperience in computer software development with a solid understanding of the SDLC
  • Experience with manual testing/test case creation
  • D oD/Army approved Computing Environment Certificate (CEC)
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Java SE 8 programming experience
  • Demonstrated ability to craft concise, logical processes
  • Experience with Selenium & Selenium IDE for Internet Explorer, Firefox, and Chrome
  • Experience using source control systems (i.e. Git, Bitbucket)
  • Experience implementing QA automation from the ground-up (inception to realization)
  • Experience with Agile software development processes
  • Experience with Atlassian Jira & its Zephyr test case management plug-in
  • Experience with/working knowledge of Adobe Experience Manager (AEM)/Day Communique (CQ)
  • Experience with performance & load testing tools, such as: JMeter, Performance Center, LoadRunner, etc.
