At Xetron we are designing mission critical systems that provide cyber capabilities to the US Government. You would work on small teams allowing you to participate on a number of different projects over a short span of time encompassing multiple OS's and platform types. Typical teams are 5-10 people and require engineers to have diverse skillsets that apply to the entire lifecycle of a program.

We are seeking cleared or clearable Cyber Systems Engineers to join the Cyber Software Systems Engineering team. This position requires system and/or subsystem design leadership and significant direct technical contribution in a domain specialty such as:
  • OS internals
  • User Mode Application development
  • Network Protocol development
  • Embedded programming
  • Reverse Engineering

Cyber Systems Engineers perform the technical planning, architecture definition, design, software implementation, system integration, verification and validation on a cyber-software program. Engineers also have direct contact with our end customers and operators of our products allowing for pragmatic and early feedback from the user community during the design process. You'll get the opportunity to wrestle with the next big problems in an atmosphere of collaboration and cooperation. Our quick to field products allow you to learn new technologies and pursue personal areas of key interest.

You should apply for this role if you have been interested in any of the following:
  • Developing and implementing shell code
  • Gaining an understanding of IDA
  • Working on Malware Analysis, Firewalls and Antivirus software
  • Understanding of return oriented programming (ROP) concepts and execution
  • Gaining experience in secure / insecure programming concepts (format string vulnerabilities, heap overflows, etc.)
  • Common source control tools and automated build system workflows (Jenkins, Go, etc.)
  • Attending Blackhat or DEFCON conferences
  • Participating in CTF events



Basic Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's Degree in Computer Engineering, Computer Science, Electrical Engineering or related engineering field and 5 years of programming experience OR Master's Degree in Computer Engineering, Computer Science, Electrical Engineering or related engineering field and 3 years of programming experience OR PhD in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science or Related Engineering field and 0 years of programming experience
  • US Citizenship and the ability to obtain and maintain a Top Secret Clearance is required

Preferred Qualifications:
  • Experience programming with low level programming languages (C, Python)
  • Experience developing lower layer network protocols (IP, TCP and/or UDP)
  • Familiarity with Assembly Languages (x86, x64, MIPS, PPC, or ARM)
  • Experience performing reverse engineering
  • Background in both Systems Engineering and Software Engineering practices
  • Experience and/or familiarity with software and system lifecycle methodologies, (e.g Waterfall, Agile, SAFe)
  • Experience preparing work products associated with the system engineering lifecycle milestones (e.g. SRR, PDR, CDR, TRR)
  • Related publications, patents, and/or invention disclosures and/or vulnerability disclosures
  • DevSecOps or DevOps experience
  • Capture the Flag Experience
  • Active Top Secret Clearance
  • Master's / PhD

This position offers the option of a 9/80 work schedule. The 9/80 schedule allows employees who work a nine-hour day Monday through Thursday to take every other Friday off.
