Northrop Grumman's Combat Systems and Mission Readiness is seeking Software Engineers in Newport News, VA or West Conshohocken, PA. The selected team member's will have the opportunity to work on multiple projects in a dynamic people-focused environment where he/she will interact with users, customers and other developers on various Command and Control Systems.

This position is contingent on contract award.

Job Duties:

  • Full life cycle product development on a variety of architectures and target hardware platforms
  • Perform as an individual contributor on an Agile Scrum team
  • Performs Unit Testing and an understanding of the concepts for developing software test plans and procedures
  • Contributes to the development of software documentation


Qualifications:

Basic Qualifications:

  • Must have of one of the following:
    • A Bachelor's degree in a STEM (Science/Technology/Engineering/Mathematics) related field with a minimum of 2 years relevant experience
    • A Master's degree in a STEM related field
  • Prior experience in using Windows or Linux Operating Systems
  • A current active Secret security clearance (U.S. citizenship is a pre-requisite)


Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience with:
    • Various programming languages (e.g. Java, JavaScript, C, C++, C#, .NET, Python, Perl, etc.)
    • Various JavaScript UX Frameworks (e.g. Angular, ViewJS, React, etc.)
    • Object Oriented Programming and Design
    • Source code management tools (e.g., CVS, Subversion, git)
    • Industry accepted programming constructs/practices (e.g., thread pools, abstract class implementations, unit testing, concurrency)
    • Cross-platform management (Windows and Unix/Linux data exchange)
    • Virtual machine environments
    • Kubernetes
    • Micro Service Architectures
  • Understanding of test-driven software development
  • Familiarity with:
    • DevOps
    • Automated container deployment
    • Running performance tests and debugging techniques
    • Net-centric technologies
    • Database design/structures and associated orchestration tools and techniques
  • Understanding of networking and network troubleshooting
  • Knowledge of the Atlassian Suite (JIRA, Confluence, Crucible, etc.)
  • Linux and Windows System Administration skills
  • Ability to apply mathematical and statistical operations towards software algorithms
  • Familiarity with Command and Control (C2) Systems
  • Background in military intelligence and imagery, or strategic planning
