Northrop Grumman Mission Systems is seeking Software Engineers to be responsible for creation and support of computer-based tools used in Manufacturing as well as database engineering, visualizations and analytics. As a Software Engineer this position will involve internal customer interfacing, requirements analysis, coding, design and validation testing in multiple software languages. Develop, upgrade and maintain database driven applications in a client/server environment and support various graphical user interfaces. Create, maintain and upgrade web pages and web hosted applications. Extensive contacts with internal personnel at peer and various management levels concerning operations or scheduling or specific phases of projects or contracts. Conducts briefings and Performs other related tasks as assigned.

Primary responsibilities will include but are not limited to:

• Creating, upgrading and maintaining software that may interface with equipment and with graphical user interfaces in multiple languages

• Web development

• Creating data-driven tools that simplify efforts related to a wide variety of functional areas

• Connecting to, analyzing, and visualizing information from several disparate data sets in support of providing greater visibility on various areas of program performance

• Automating reports and processes through software development

• Must possess strong organizational and interpersonal skills to communicate effectively verbally and in writing

• Strong analytical and problem solving skills.




Basic Qualifications:

- Bachelor's degree in CS, CE, ECE or comparable Engineering discipline and 2 or more years of relevant work experience

- Ability to translate user requests into software requirements, design, and regression test sets

- Ability to write, test, debug and integrate software on various operating systems and platforms

- Knowledge in configuration management

-Participate in a process-oriented environment developing high quality products to our customers.

- US Citizenship and the ability to obtain and maintain security clearance

Preferred Qualifications:

Ability to configure, maintain and deploy new and legacy software.

Experience writing maintainable, understandable code as a part of a team.

Experience with SQL Server Database Development

Experience with user interface tools such as MS Access, InfoPath, Sharepoint, etc.

Performs requirements gathering and documenting

Does problem analysis to determine the best approach / methodology for application design

Experience programming software with C#, Visual Studio, Visual Basic.

Experience with web development using, Angular, React, Sharepoint, etc.

Experience programming application software such as: C#, .Net, Java.

Experience creating dashboards to visualize data using tools such as Tableau.

Experience with scripting languages such as: Python, Javascript.

Experience cleaning and compile data using SQL Management Studio, Alteryx Connect, Windows Powershell, minitab,

python, R, SQL, Tableau. etc.

Experience with tools such as: GitHub, Jira or ClearCase.

Migrate older solutions to new solutions (move out of MS Access and into other technical solutions)

Familiarity with cybersecurity and user access controls

US citizen with active Secret or Top-secret clearance
