Northrop Grumman Space Systems is seeking a Manager of Programs (S02). This position will be located in Roy, Utah and will support the Ground Based Strategic Deterrent (GBSD) program. Northrop Grumman supports the Air Force's sustainment, development, production and deployment of hardware and system modifications for Intercontinental Ballistic Missile (ICBM) Ground and Airborne Launch Control Systems, Launch Facilities and associated infrastructure.

What you will get to do:
Northrop Grumman is seeking a Manager of Programs 2 to lead the GBSD Program's Countermeasure sub-IPT, supporting the Payload Re-Entry Systems (PLT) IPT during GBSD program execution.
JOB DUTIES: This Manager of Programs 2 position has the following duties and responsibilities:
  • Directs, leads and manages all aspects of CM technical, cost and schedule performance.
  • Acts as the Program and Technical Team lead, and as such, provides technical direction, and supports cost and schedule performance, and participates in subcontractor negotiations and contract changes, with support from Global Supply Chain Subcontract Management Team Lead for the PLT IPT.
  • Coordinates the preparation of proposals, business plans, proposal work statements and specifications, operating budgets and financial terms/conditions of contract.
  • Acts as primary customer contact for GBSD CM program activities, leading program review sessions with both internal and external customers.
  • Establishes design concepts, criteria and engineering efforts for product research, development, integration and test. Receives specification and analysis direction from PLT SEIT.
  • Establishes milestones and monitors adherence to master plans and schedules, identifies program problems and obtains solutions, such as allocation of resources or changing contractual specifications.
  • Directs the work of employees assigned to the sub-IPT from technical, program and administrative areas.

This positions standard work schedule is a 9/80. The 9/80 schedule allows employees who work a nine-hour day Monday through Thursday to take every other Friday off.



  • Bachelor's degree in a technical or business related field and a minimum 6 years of related experience, or a Master's degree with a minimum of 4 years' experience.
  • Demonstrated management experience leading a technical and complex program effort.
  • Prior experience with ICBM programs
  • U.S. Citizenship with an Active Secret Clearance or higher

  • ICBM Reentry System experience
  • Preferred candidate will be a proven leader; problem solver; possess a strong work ethic; and have excellent communications and interpersonal skills required to work closely with teammates, stakeholders and both internal and external customers.
  • Familiarity with Northrop Grumman project execution, processes and procedures.
  • Active Top Secret or SSBI clearance, with clearance date after 1 Nov 2013
