This is a dual role Section Manager and Specialty Test & Support Project Manager position. The Project Manager reports directly to the System Test Team Deputy Director. This position will be located in Melbourne, Florida. The candidate will be responsible for functional management of staff as a Section Manager within the System Integration and Test & Evaluation (SI&TE) Directorate. The candidate will also be required to be a Project Manager on the Strike IPT. The candidate will be responsible for functional management of Specialty Test & Support Engineers and provide Project oversight to System Test and Integration activities on the program (IPT).

Roles and Responsibilities include:
The successful candidate will help their section members understand our organization's vision and principles, build a culture that empowers and motivates individual excellence, and establish functional homeroom shared accountability for program performance. Section Manager responsibilities include working closely with the Specialty Test & Support Department Manager and fellow section managers to implement department and CoE initiatives, ensuring successful planning and execution of program test engineering activities, collaborating with programs to satisfy staffing needs and provide operations support (metrics collection and analysis, etc.), setting Talent + goals and providing regular performance feedback to employees, supporting the annual salary review and promotion process, mentoring and developing the next generation of technical and program leadership, and improving and enforcing test engineering processes and procedures.
The Project Manager will support the Specialty Test & Support Organization as the RAA (Responsibility, Authority, and Accountability) for Program Management in the areas of test, integration, test support, and Configuration Management. Oversees and manages the operational aspects of ongoing projects and serves as liaison between project management and planning, project team, and WSIC management. Reviews status of projects and budgets; manages schedules and prepares status reports. Assesses project issues and develops resolutions to meet productivity, quality, and client-satisfaction goals and objectives. Develops mechanisms for monitoring project progress and for intervention and problem solving with project managers and Project Engineers.

This position reports directly to the Specialty Test & Support Department Manager and manages planning, execution, and reporting activities. The Project Manager also coordinates the lower level tasking associated with test resource utilization in support of system, subsystem / segment / system level development, integration, and testing. In addition, the Program manager is responsible for, detailed project and resource scheduling, asset procurement / management, SOW mapping and contract compliance, company policy adherence and discrepancy review support, and collection of metric and metrics reporting.

Basic Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's Degree from an accredited university and a minimum of 7 years of project management and/or aerospace and defense industry experience OR Master's Degree from an accredited university and minimum of 5 years of project management and/or aerospace and defense industry experience
  • A current DoD Secret or Top Secret/SCI level security clearance, to include a Single Scope Background Investigation, a periodic reinvestigation, or an original adjudication date completed within the last 6 years
  • Must be able to obtain and maintain program access prior to start
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Current Program Access
  • Master's Degree from an accredited university
  • Previous experience within scheduling, cost management, or with other project management applications
  • Experience supporting System Test and/or a test lab environment
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal skills, and the ability to interface with all levels of employees and management
