Sr Principal Embedded Software Engineer / Secret

Northrop Grumman Defense Systems Sector has a need for a Sr Principal Embedded Software Engineer at its Subsystem and Software Sustainment (S&SS) organization in Warner Robins, GA.



Responsibilities include:

  • Translating software requirements into software design, producing software code from designs, and testing and debugging software code.
  • Ensuring the logical and systematic conversion of customer or product requirements into total systems solutions that acknowledge technical, schedule, and cost constraints.
  • Working in an open collaborative environment as a member of a software development team.
  • Using high level programming languages such as C/C++, Java, and/or Ada.
  • Using software tools such as GIT, JIRA, Eclipse, and/or Visual Studio
  • Planning and executing system integration, verification and validation as part of a cross functional team.
  • Performing and/or assisting with program technical planning.
  • Utilizing either Agile principles or the Earned Value Management System (EVMS) to track and facilitate program execution.
  • Participating as a team member to drive issues to root cause and enact corrective design actions.
  • Preparing and presenting technical data to management and customers.
  • Organizing and participating in system verification activities.


Qualifications:

Basic Qualifications:

1. A Bachelor's degree and a minimum of 9 years of experience; Master's degree with 7 years of experience; PhD with 4 years of experience.


2. Experienced in either Avionics, Electronic Warfare, Radar, or Test systems

3. Experience with scripting language such as Python
4. Demonstrated expertise with full software development lifecycle to include but not limited to requirements analysis, requirements allocation, requirements decomposition, requirements development and verification & validation.
5. Demonstrated leadership capabilities.
6. Experience working frequently with external customers.
7. Object Oriented (OO) software development experience.
8. Experience with C++ programming language or ADA programming language
9. Experience in embedded real-time software development, debug and test

10. A current DoD Secret security clearance.

11. Ability to obtain/maintain access to work at our Warner Robins, GA facility.

Preferred Qualifications:

1. Knowledge in Electronic Warfare principles.

2. Experience within the Electronic Warfare domain

3. Experience designing OFPs

4. Experience with real-time operating syst ems


5. Experience with emulation/virtualization technologies


6. Experience with automated testing techniques and tool


7. Knowledge in operating system concepts for embedded systems. Ability to test, debug and integrate on embedded systems.
  • Knowledge in using requirement management, configuration management.
