Northrop Grumman Space Systems sector is seeking an Operations Test Engineer to join the Payload and Ground Systems Division. What You'll Get to Do:

• Support verification of complex RF systems from a wide variety of antenna systems located throughout the world
• Build and test complex test cases that support calibration services
• Characterize system performance by documenting problems in a Configuration Management database
• Monitor the status of critical global systems and report system status to senior contracting and government leadership
• Analyze RF waveforms in the frequency and time domain and perform waveform demodulation
• Provide system performance validation and 2nd tier quality assurance on multiple systems world-wide
• Participate in system level test planning and test readiness reviews
• Serve as the primary point of contact for customers seeking calibration support and develop comprehensive test scripts to meet their needs
• Write and review system engineering documentation to ensure test plans and methodologies meet system needs and are accurate, comprehensive, consistent and complete
• Lead test activities with less experienced test and site personnel
• Train less experienced personnel on multiple communications system

Candidates with less than 5 years of experience will be considered for a T02 paygrade
Candidates with 6 - 13 years of experience will be considered for a T03 paygrade

Candidates with greater than 13 years of experience will be considered for a T04 paygrades

Basic Qualifications:

• Skills required are in line with military equivalent training in ratings such as Air Force IN2A (IN5 equivalent), Navy CTT and Army 35N (98 series equivalents)

• Bachelor of Science in a Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) discipline; 4 years of work-related experience in a technical field may be considered in lieu of degree.

• Academic or work-related experience with the following:

o RF verification in frequency domain, time domain and demodulation techniques;

o Applying engineering disciplines to real world activities and systems;

o Full life-cycle hardware/software development projects; and

o Support the development of system integration plans, procedures and scenarios used in the conduct of software/hardware system integration testing

• Able to work in a team environment where collaboration and attention to detail is critical to mission success

• Must possess organized, logical thought process skills, exhibit a strong work ethic, and the ability to acquire and retain the requisite training for operational support

• Excellent communication, interpersonal skills, and the ability to interface with all levels of employees and government leadership

• Proficiency with Microsoft Office suite and technical writing skills.

• Must be able to obtain and maintain a TS-SCI with CI Poly

Preferred Qualifications:

• Active TS-SCI with CI Poly

• Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering

• Academic or work-related experience in the following:

o developing test methods to characterize and validate RF signals & performance;

o RF signal generation of modulated RF signals such as linear/non-linear FMOP, BPSK, FSK, and QPSK;

o presenting technical and management level briefings; and

o using MATLAB to create modulated waveforms to customer specifications
