The Advanced Concepts and Technologies (AC&T) group of Northrop Grumman Mission Systems (MS) is seeking an innovative, enthusiastic, and self-motivated Database Developer. The Database Developer will join our Advanced Technology Lab (ATL) semiconductor foundry, which develops and implements advanced semiconductor device technologies to support capabilities within and across the Sectors to distinguish NGC from its competitors. This position is located in Linthicum, MD.

Northrop Grumman's ATL semiconductor foundry is a unique capability supporting a range of production microelectronic devices (Silicon, Gallium Arsenide, Gallium Nitride, Silicon Carbide, Carbon Nanotubes) and providing leading edge technology development in superconducting electronics. Our devices enable a number of Northrop Grumman's ground based radars, avionic radars, and space systems. The selected candidate will be expected to design, model, document, and guide the logical and conceptual relationship
of data and database changes for complex applications. He/she will analyze needs and requirements of existing and proposed systems, and develop technical, structural, and organizational specifications.

The selected Database Developer will provide SQL Server and/or Oracle database support for business application systems. This individual will apply and develop technical solutions to complex problems which require the regular use of ingenuity and creativity. Work is performed without appreciable direction and exercises considerable latitude in determining technical objectives of assignment. Completed work is reviewed from a relatively long-term perspective, for desired results. Additionally, the DBA may create standards and/or do modeling to monitor and enhance capacity and performance.
Primary duties include:
• Perform database maintenance tasks to support application changes and ensure integrity and efficient performance of the databases. (Typical maintenance tasks include backup, recovery, migration, space management, structural changes,
and performance tuning)
• Participate in the research and resolution of database problems.
• Research and install DBMS software packages.
•ETL management and Scripting.
•Ability to use SSIS services to aggregate data into data marts/warehouses.
•Responsible for all data movements from source generators to respective repositories.
• Document and improve work processes.
• Provide thorough coordination with customers, application developers, customers, and other IT groups.
Analytical tasks include but are not limited to:
• Implement and maintain smooth operation and physical design of databases.
• Conduct performance tuning of indexes and databases in general.
• Review database design and integration of systems, provide backup recovery and make recommendation regarding
enhancements and/or improvements.
• Maintain security and integrity controls.
• Formulate policies, procedures, and standards relating to database management, and monitor transaction activity and
utilization.
• Develop stored procedures and/or triggers

Qualifications:

This requisition may be filled at Database Developer or Principal Database Developer
Basic Qualifications for Database Developer:
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Software Engineering or related engineering discipline with 2 years of relevant information technology database experience (or 0 years with an MS).
• Proven experience as an Oracle and SQL Server Database Developer
• Ability to obtain and maintain a DoD Interim Secret Security Clearance.

Basic Qualifications for Principal Database Developer:
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Software Engineering or related engineering discipline with 5 years of relevant information technology database experience (or 3 years with an MS).
• Proven experience as an Oracle and SQL Server Database Developer
• Ability to obtain and maintain a DoD Interim Secret Security Clearance.

Preferred Qualifications:
• Preferred degree in Science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics (STEM) disciplines
• Familiarity with Cloud Based Technology
• Experience with ETL management and scripting.
• SQL Server 2012 or higher
• Ability to create and maintain SSIS services to aggregate data into warehouse.
• Experience designing and deploying data warehouses.
• Experience aggregating data from multiple sources.
• Database performance tuning and monitoring experience.
• Oracle 12 experience/knowledge or higher
• Database security certification is a plus
• C# Programming experience
• Knowledge of web development technologies
