The Information Technology department’s mission is to provide both strategic vision and enterprising solutions for department staff so they may meet their goals, deliver results, and enhance the company’s position. The IT department supports Tactical Air’s mission through the provision of information technology and cybersecurity in an efficient and effective manner. The IT department assists in technical analysis, design, procurement, implementation, operation, and support of computing and cybersecurity infrastructure and services. The Cybersecurity Specialist position is an integral part of a dedicated, elite team of professionals who get things done, enjoy working together, and are committed to growing with this fast-moving company.

The ideal candidate for the Cybersecurity Specialist position will be professional, highly-productive, and responsive to the needs of the company and employees. This position is vital to the company’s ongoing viability and performance by ensuring the security of the company’s information systems. The Cybersecurity Specialist will serve as the front line of defense for the safety and integrity of Tactical Air’s digital information. This position will work with management to secure computer systems from threats, establish file-access permissions, and ensure uninterrupted operations. The Cybersecurity Specialist will identify weaknesses and implement procedures and software necessary to secure the company’s computer systems. The successful candidate for this position will utilize analytical and forensic expertise to identify threats, provide solutions to protect the company from cybercrime, monitor the company’s defenses, track unauthorized intrusions, and take measures to protect the company’s IT systems. This position will apply technical knowledge to solve complex problems and to provide assistance, guidance, and instruction to teammates as needed.

The key desirable and preferred requirements for this position include:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or STEM related discipline.
  • Completion of an internship in cybersecurity.
  • DoDD 8750 IAT Level 2 certification, or ability to obtain within six months.
  • Certifications in information security systems preferred (e.g., CISM, CISSP, etc.)
  • Strong IT skills including knowledge in hardware, software, and networks with basic understanding of Python, Powershell, C/C++, and assembly language.
  • Critical thinking and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and ability to provide excellent customer service.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple roles and projects.
  • Ability to read, listen to, and understand information and ideas verbally and in writing, with strong attention to detail.
  • Ability to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed.
  • Regular travel to various work sites throughout the U.S. may be required.
  • Ability to obtain U.S. government security clearance.
  • Creativity, positivity, and confidence.

The successful candidate for this position must be able to travel to and relocate to Reno, Nevada.
