Senior Electrical Engineer II - FPGA - VHDL

The Microelectronics department in Raytheon’s Space and Airborne Systems’ Hardware Engineering Center is seeking an experienced responsible engineering authority for Digital Design specifically FPGA development.

Required Skills:
  • Minimum 6+ years of related engineering experience
  • At least 4-6 years of experience designing, implementing, testing, debugging, and delivering digital electronics including FPGAs and/or ASICs.
  • At least two years of engineering leadership experience as Responsible Engineering Authority, team lead, or Integrated Product Team Lead of digital circuit card / module / unit.
  • At least 2-4 years of experience using VHDL
  • At least 3 years of experience using Xilinx, Altera, and/or SmartFusion FPGAs
  • Experience in requirements allocation and generation
  • Experience designing high speed interfaces for memories and SERDES channels
  • Experience with scripting language such as Python, Perl, TCL, etc
  • Ability to handle a dynamic environment and to coordinate actions, fast learner. Demonstrates initiative, ability to work independently towards program goals.
  • U.S. Citizenship status is required as this position will need a U.S. Security Clearance within 1 year of start date.
  • U.S. Citizenship status is required as this position will require the ability to access US only data systems.

Desired Skills:
  • Experience designing digital ASICs
  • Expertise in Xilinx and Microsemi FPGAs and their tool suites (Virtex 7 Series, Utrascale/ +)
  • Expertise in PCI-e (requirements/architectures/design & implementation)
  • Expertise in Flash memory technologies (interfacing/management)
  • Experience design digital CCAs (modules)
  • Experience interfacing to DDR2, DDR3 and DDR4 memories
  • Experience designing embedded processors and FPGAs
  • Experience writing low level embedded software (C, C++)
  • Ability to work as part of a multi-disciplined team, providing technical and schedule status to management, customers and fellow team members.
  • Proven customer-oriented personality. Experience presenting to and interfacing with customers (internal and external).
