The Whole Life Engineering (WLE) Center is made up of several disciplines whose main objective is to influence hardware and systems throughout their life cycle to ensure effective operation, reliability, system safety, maintainability and economical ownership by the customer and end user. Our team provides design analysis and sustainment support for advanced systems that are deployed worldwide on military platforms. Customers worldwide depend on us to provide best-value solutions, flawless system performance, and the full lifecycle support that assures mission success

We have a need for a candidate that will be responsible for interfacing with subcontractors to flow down Electromagnetic Environmental Effects (E3) requirements, and provide technical oversight. They must also work closely with other engineering disciplines (Electrical, Mechanical, Systems, and Whole Life Engineering) to ensure all technical requirements are achieved. The candidate will be responsible for reviewing all drawings for E3 compliance. The Engineer is responsible for developing, managing and communicating the E3 methodology to internal and external customers while also being able to test product in a lab and fielded environment.

Required Skills
  • Minimum of 2 years' related experience
  • Experience interpreting and applying engineering drawings and electrical schematics
  • EMI/EMC/Electromagnetic Coursework
  • Experience with Spectrum Analyzers, Signal Generators, Receivers, Antennas, Injection Probes, Amplifiers, and Oscilloscopes
  • Understanding of Electromagnetic Theory, RF Design, Shielding, and Physics
  • EMI/EMC Modeling and Simulation proficiency
  • U.S. Citizenship status is required as this position requires the ability to obtain a DoD Secret U.S. Security Clearance within one year of start date
  • U.S. Citizenship status is required as this position will require the ability to access US only data systems

Desired Skills
  • Existing DoD Secret Clearance
  • Experience applying engineering principles to investigate, analyze, plan, design, develop, implement, test, and evaluate air vehicle, weapons, and avionics with respect to E3 systems engineering
  • Demonstrated capability of completing and following established procedures and meeting schedules
  • Ability to communicate efficiently and effectively to coordinate E3 activities, prioritize tasks, and report status
  • Experience applying risk management and risk mitigation techniques.
  • Experience developing and communicating E3 approach and methodology to management.
  • Ability to independently perform verifications and document results in a clear, precise, and complete manner
  • Support engineering management with confidence; think creatively – question the status quo, while following documentation and maintaining prescribed quality standards.
  • Experience in troubleshooting EMI/EMC problems and recommendations that offer cost effective solutions with minimal design impact.
  • Ability to design CCAs from an electromagnetic interference perspective
  • EMI/EMC design and verification experience to ensure products survive electromagnetic environmental effects
  • Experience using and programing with TILE EMC test software
  • Signal and power integrity experience or knowledge

Required Education
Bachelor of Science Degree in Electrical Engineering or Physics

Desired Education
Master of Science in Electrical Engineering or Physics
