Electrical Engineer will be responsible for Design, development and integration of the Special Test Equipment (STE) with the Prime Hardware for Space and Airborne Systems. A candidate will work as part of a STE team to analyze Hardware / Software test requirements / specifications to determine Hardware and Software requirements. Potential areas of focus are: Digital, Analog and Receiver Module and Unit Test Systems. The STE configuration items can include test equipment hardware, hardware test adapters/modules, and production test software, including the FPGA programing.

In addition to design, review, and release of STE requirements, and component level drawings, the Electrical Engineer will work, with other Electrical Engineers, to oversee the manufacturing of the STE and be responsible for its checkout and integration. Candidate will be required to analyze and test digital circuits associated with unit and system level applications. The STE Department welcomes Electrical Engineers with a strong work ethic, a willingness to get engaged with the hardware to get results, and a positive can-do attitude.

Required Skills:

  • Minimum of 0+ to 2+ years of engineering experience in RF or Digital Hardware and graduated with BS less than 18 months ago.
  • Knowledge with Schematic Capture tools for Printed Circuit Board design, such as Mentor xDX Designer
  • Knowledge with Xilinx ISE, EDK, SDK, and Vivado development environment
  • Knowledge with Mentor Modelsim
  • Knowledge with software applications (C, C++, Visual C, LabView, NI Test Stand)
  • Knowledge of Commercial-Off-The-Shelf Test Equipment (Spectrum Analyzers, Oscilloscopes, Network Analyzers, Signal Generators, DMMs, etc.)
  • Ability to work with system integration/test and system production test
  • Ability to travel when required
  • U.S. Citizenship status is required as this position will need a U.S. Security Clearance on first day of employment
  • U.S. Citizenship status is required as this position will require the ability to access US only data systems.

Desired Skills:
  • Knowledge of Mentor xDX Designer
  • RADAR Systems, Design & Test Development Background
  • Significant accomplishments in Digital subsystem design, simulation, fabrication and measurement
  • Experience providing technical leadership to an engineering team throughout the entire product life cycle
  • Strong analytical skills and the ability to solve complex problems
  • Experience with Windows 7 and the Microsoft Office tools suite
  • Experience in integration, verification and validation
  • Experience with participating in Engineering Gate reviews
  • Experience in Operations including production test, transition to production, installation, and deployment
  • Demonstrates strong team and project leadership skills
  • Capable of functioning in multi-disciplined design teams across multiple projects
  • Ability to prioritize and handle multiple tasks at a time
  • Ability to solve problems independently but also work as part of a team, as required.
  • Good written skills and the ability to analyze and write Test Requirements and Product Specifications

Required Education: Bachelors of Science in Electrical Engineering or related technical field from an accredited school and program.

Desired Education: Masters of Science in Electrical Engineering

U.S. Security Clearance as of day one of employment.
