This is a real and urgent opening with one of our great DC clients.  They are currently working 2 days a week onsite/3 days remote.  May from time to time be more or less onsite.  Needs clean background for Public Trust, as well as up to date vaccinations.

Position Title: Virtualization Storage Engineer

Position Type: Contract to Hire

Position Location: DC, Virginia, and Maryland

US Citizen with clean background and vaccination required

The Virtualization Storage Engineer will be responsible for providing backup, redundancy, and availability of the virtualized server environment.

Skills:

5+ years mixed systems engineering experience including the following:

• Knowledge of Virtual Private Cloud environments (VPCs) Servers (Amazon Linux and Microsoft Windows) Amazon Machine Instances running in EC2 AWS RDS for MySQL and MS-SQL Server Simple Storage Services (S3), Amazon Glacier Storage for long-term archival storage, Identity Authentication Management including Windows Active Directory and ADFS, Google G Suite, VMware tools, Windows OS, Redhat, SQL 2016, Solarwinds, NetApp CloudSync, Lucid Charts (Account Management)
• Knowledge and experience of VMWare and vCenter
• Experience with Redhat/Amazon
• Experience with virtual storage devices, such as Veeam and NetBackup
• Experience using JAMF for remote lifecycle management (i.e., Groups, Policies, Configuration, Patches) of Apple devices (Macs and iOS)
• Experience using Solarwinds
• Experience with Enterprise backup solutions, tape robots and virtual tape solutions
• Scripting experience
• Ability to create and/or update processes, complex diagrams (network or otherwise) using Lucid Charts or comparable application
• Ability to balance and prioritize workload and deadlines, and work independently and in a team environment
• VMware Certification, such as VCP-DCV/DT, with strong experience implementing and troubleshooting VMware vSphere 5.x/6.x, or equivalent
